PHILADELPHIA -- Claude Giroux scored at 4:55 of overtime to give the Philadelphia Flyers a 3-2 win against the Chicago Blackhawks on Tuesday at Wells Fargo Center.

In the final minute of the extra session, Giroux streaked down the right side of the ice and into the Chicago zone before he unloaded a shot from just above the right circle, beating Antti Raanta over his right shoulder.

Scott Hartnell scored two goals for the Flyers, and Ray Emery stopped 23 of 25 shots in his first start since Feb. 8.

Andrew Shaw and Duncan Keith scored for the Blackhawks, and Raanta made 34 saves.

The Flyers thought they had scored the go-ahead goal with 6:12 left in the third. Luke Schenn fired a shot from the point that Vincent Lecavalier tipped in front. The puck hit the post and Brayden Schenn tapped it in, but the goal immediately was waved off when it was ruled Lecavalier played the puck with a high stick. Since his teammate was the next one to touch the puck, the play was not reviewable.

Philadelphia also had two power-play chances in the third, but the Flyers were unable to find the back of the net, going 0-for-5 against a Chicago penalty-killing unit that entered the game 23rd in the NHL.

The Blackhawks also had an extra-man chance in the third, but managed one shot.

After the teams combined for four goals in the first period, they tightened up defensively in the second. Each had chances on the power play, but some of the best scoring chances came at even strength.

Patrick Kane set up Brent Seabrook for a one-timer from between the circles with 6:50 left, but Emery smothered it. The Flyers' best chance came with 5:52 left on a wraparound attempt by Sean Couturier, but Chicago defenseman Nick Leddy stopped him at the post, and then Raanta stopped Lecavalier on the rebound from in close.

The Flyers got one shot on a power play after Marian Hossa was sent off for a holding penalty at 14:08 of the period, and the Blackhawks managed two shots after Nicklas Grossmann was called for a holding penalty at 16:42.

Chicago scored two goals early in the first period, but Philadelphia answered with two goals later in the period.

Hartnell's second goal of the game drew the Flyers even with 3:33 remaining in the first. As the Flyers' Matt Read and the Blackhawks' Sheldon Brookbank battled behind the Chicago net, the puck squirted loose. Shaw grabbed it, but Giroux took it away from him. Giroux found Hartnell at the hash marks, and Hartnell one-timed the puck Raanta's glove for his 18th of the season.

Hartnell had gotten the Flyers on the board at 5:48 of the first when he got a lucky carom. Braydon Coburn held the puck in along the right wall in the Chicago zone and fed it to Hartnell behind the Chicago net. Hartnell tried throwing the puck in front of the net, but it bounced off the right skate of Chicago center Marcus Krueger and rolled over the goal line inside the post.

The Blackhawks took an early 2-0 lead on goals by Shaw and Keith in a 1:22 span.

An errant pass by the Flyers' Brayden Schenn in the Chicago end allowed Patrick Sharp to lead a breakout. He streaked around Flyers defenseman Mark Streit on the right side of the Philadelphia zone and got a shot on net that Emery stopped. The rebound went to Michal Handzus, whose shot was blocked by Grossmann. The puck came back to Handzus, who found Shaw joining the play, and Shaw poked it past Emery at 2:29 for his 17th of the season.

Keith made it 2-0 with his fourth of the season at 3:51. Jonathan Toews sent the puck from deep in the Philadelphia end to Keith just inside the blue line, and his slap shot found enough room between Emery's arm and body to squirt through and across the goal line.

The goal was Keith's first in 30 games, dating to Dec. 17.
