Flyers try for weekend sweep of Penguins
Philadelphia Flyers vs. Pittsburgh Penguins

FLYERS (34-25-7) at PENGUINS (44-18-4)

Last 10: Philadelphia 7-2-1; Pittsburgh 5-3-2

Season series: The Pittsburgh Penguins and Philadelphia Flyers will complete their weekend home-and-home set Sunday in Pittsburgh. The Flyers have won two of the first three games between the teams, including a 4-0 win Saturday in Philadelphia.

Big story: Despite feeling good on their cross-state flight Saturday, the Flyers know they can't dwell too much on their win Saturday.

"You have to put it behind you and that's the way the rest of season has to go," goalie Steve Mason said. "We have no time left for the remainder of the regular season so teams are going to come at us quickly and we have to make sure we're moving on from the previous one as quickly as possible and get ready for the next one."

The Penguins are glad they don't have to wait long to go right back to work.

"After a loss you definitely want to get back at it, so it's definitely a good opportunity and we'll see if we can make the most of it," defenseman Brooks Orpik said.

Team Scope:

Flyers: The Penguins entered their game Saturday against the Flyers with the League's top-rated power play and penalty killing units. However, the Flyers scored two special-teams goals in the first period and won that portion of the game en route to their 4-0 victory.

Scott Hartnell's power-play goal 3:50 into the game opened the scoring and was the second power-play goal allowed by the Penguins in seven games. Matt Read scored shorthanded later in the period.

At the other end the Flyers killed off all five Pittsburgh power plays while allowing five shots with the man-advantage.

"It's only one game but I think we did what we wanted to do to kind of stop their power play," Flyers captain Claude Giroux said. "They have a lot of key players. They were missing a couple too. We're pretty happy with our penalty killing and our power play."

Penguins: With more than 400 man-games lost to injury this season, the Penguins didn't need more players getting injured. However, they knew they were going into their game Saturday without forward James Neal, who is out indefinitely with a concussion sustained Tuesday against the Washington Capitals. They sustained another blow when forward Chris Kunitz was removed from the lineup after pregame warmups Saturday due to a lower-body injury he sustained Tuesday.

Kunitz and Neal have scored 43 of the Penguins' 201 goals, and when you combine them with the season-ending knee injury sustained by Pascal Dupuis in December, three of the Penguins' top six forwards are on the injured list.

However, they don't plan on using the injuries as an excuse. They haven't all season and won't start now.

"We've had some back luck with injuries," said Orpik, who missed two weeks with a concussion in December. "It's not something we can worry about. We've plugged away all year long and have done a pretty good job with it. Our young guys have done a really good job for us for most part. I don't know. I hope we get some guys back soon."

Who's hot: Read scored twice Saturday, snapping a six-game goal drought. ... Penguins captain Sidney Crosby was held without a point Saturday, but has 30 goals and 74 points in 45 career games against the Flyers.

Injury report: The Flyers have no reported injuries. ... In addition to Kunitz, Neal and Dupuis, the Penguins are missing goaltender Tomas Vokoun (blood clot), forwards Beau Bennett (wrist), and Chris Conner (foot), and defensemen Kris Letang (stroke) and Paul Martin (hand).
