Flyers' homestand continues against Leafs
Toronto Maple Leafs vs. Philadelphia Flyers
Philadelphia Flyers (9-10-1--19pts)
vs
Toronto Maple Leafs (11-8-0--22pts)

TV: CSN - RADIO: 97.5 The Fanatic

1. TWO OF THREE
Tonight is the second of three meetings against Toronto this season, and first and only meeting here at the Wells Fargo Center… In the first meeting, Toronto went on to win by a 5-2 margin… At home, the Flyers have had a lot of success against the Leafs, having won seven of their last eight meetings in Philadelphia… All-time, the Flyers are 88-51-22-2 in 163 games against the Maple Leafs and are 51-23-8-0 here in Philadelphia.

2. SPECIAL TEAMS FACTOR
Together, the two teams have combined for over 1,000 hits this season… The Maple Leafs lead the NHL in hits (549) with the Flyers ranking second (535)… Toronto also leads the NHL in fighting majors (21) while the Flyers rank third (17)… Toronto has killed off 27 of their last 29 penalties, while the Flyers have gone 6-for-18 (33.3 percent) on the power play in the last four games.

3. THIS & THAT
The Flyers are 5-1-1 in their last six games on home ice, while the Maple Leafs have lost three of their last four games on the road… Clarke MacArthur leads all Toronto players in career assists (10) and points (13) in 18 games against Philadelphia… Nine of Toronto's 11 victories have come when they lead after two periods… Ilya Bryzgalov will get the start tonight in net, making this his 19th start out of 21 games to start the season… Half of Claude Giroux's points this season have come on the power play (9-of-18).

4. Player to watch FLYERS: Jakub Voracek - RW #93
For the third straight game you should keep an eye on Voracek… He comes into tonight's game with a five-game point streak in which he has four goals and 12 points, which includes three games in which he has posted three or more points… For his efforts, Voracek has been named the NHL's "Player of the Week"… He continues to lead the team in points (22), which is also tied for ninth among all players in the NHL.

5. Player to watch MAPLE LEAFS: James van Riemsdyk - LW #21
James van Riemsdyk returns to the Wells Fargo Center for the first time since being traded to the Toronto Maple Leafs on June of 2012… JVR is also the player to watch because he leads the Leafs in goals (11) which also ranks sixth in the NHL, and he is tied for the team lead with 15 points so far this season… He comes into tonight's game having recorded at least a point in four of his last five games, posting five points (3g-2a) in that span.

QUOTABLE
"I told [Giroux] and [Voracek] that they were playing so good that I just wanted to get them the puck and get to the net - that's where I make a living. I had some chances… but I was just happy to get through the games and I have no worries right now."
- Scott Hartnell

Last 10: Toronto7-3-0; Philadelphia 5-4-1.

Season series: This is the second of three games between the teams this season, and the only one in Philadelphia. In their previous meeting, the Leafs scored three times in a 4:10 span to break a 1-1 tie en route to a 5-2 win in Toronto on Feb. 11.

Big Story: How will James van Riemsdyk handle his return to Philadelphia? He already did well in his first game against his former team, scoring a goal in the Feb. 11 game.

Team Scope:

Maple Leafs: For Leafs goalie Ben Scrivens, Saturday's 3-2 loss to the Ottawa Senators wasn't just another defeat in the Battle of Ontario, mostly because of who scored the game-winning goal.

Scrivens and Ottawa Senators forward Collin Greening were roommates at Cornell University, but there were no friends during or immediately after the game. When Scrivens juggled a Patrick Wiercioch point shot, Greening pounced and knocked the puck past him with 23.4 seconds left in regulation.

"It's frustrating, he's a good player, but you want to play a few of those better," Scrivens told Canadian Press."Definitely not happy for him right now."

It was Scrivens' sixth straight start in place of injured James Reimer, and in that span he's 3-3-0 with a pair of shutouts.

Flyers: Saturday'sgame was a tale of two contests for the Flyers. In the first 7:17 they were down 1-0 to the visiting Winnipeg Jets and were being out-shot 12-1. In the final 47:17 of the game, the Flyers scored five times, put 38 shots on Jets goalie Ondrej Pavelec and pulled out a 5-3 win.

It was the 11th time in 20 games the Flyers gave up the game's first goal, and the first time in eight games they entered the third period trailing and pulled out a victory.

They tied the game at 6:18 of the third on Brayden Schenn's power-play goal, and went ahead 2:39 later when Schenn found Wayne Simmonds alone on the backdoor for a power-play goal.

"We just said in the second intermission, we have to be able to thrive in situations like this," Schenn said. "Whether we areup 3-2 or down 3-2, we have to find a way to win hockey games and tonight we did. It was a huge two points to keep on climbing up in the standings, clawing our way back to a playoff spot."

Who's hot: The Leafs' van Riemsdyk has 10 points in his last 10 games. … Flyers forward Jakub Voracek has 12 points in his five-game scoring streak.

Injury Report: Forwards Joffrey Lupul (arm) and Matt Frattin (knee) and goalie James Reimer (knee) are out for the Leafs. Forward Colton Orr is questionable with a lower-body injury. … The Flyers are missing forward Jody Shelley (hip) and Matt Read (torn rib-cage muscles), defenseman Andrej Meszaros (shoulder) and goalie Michael Leighton (finger).
