UNIONDALE, N.Y. (AP) -The Philadelphia Flyers and New York Islanders are streaking in opposite directions.

In a rematch of last week's fight-filled game, the Flyers got the best of the skidding Islanders again. Sergei Bobrovsky made 31 saves, and Andreas Nodl scored with 5:25 left to lift Philadelphia over New York 2-1 on Saturday night.

Philadelphia won its sixth straight and sent New York to its seventh consecutive loss. The Flyers have won 17 of the last 18 meetings with the Islanders.

"My goal is to do the best I can in every game and help the team win," Bobrovsky said through an interpreter

The Islanders played at home for only the fifth time in 14 games this season, and they are now heading back out on the road for a three-game trip to California.

"We just have to play the way we did tonight for the full 60 minutes," Islanders goalie Dwayne Roloson said.

Mike Richards added a goal and an assist for the Flyers.

Matt Moulson had New York's only goal, and Roloson stopped 24 shots for the Islanders, who began the season 4-1-2.

"I have no complaints about the effort the last two games," Islanders coach Scott Gordon said. "The last two games, we were more competitive, and we're getting closer to the way we were playing earlier this season."

The key for the Flyers was their play in the final period.

"We got our heads screwed on straight and started getting pucks in deep and get our legs moving," Flyers defenseman Chris Pronger said.

The first period was nearly scoreless, but Richards tipped Pronger's slap shot from the right point past Roloson with 68 seconds left.

New York tied it at 7:31 of the second period when Moulson put a wrister past Bobrovsky on a power play.

Philadelphia killed off a penalty to start the third, and then took control. The winning goal came when Roloson stopped Eric Wellwood's shot with his mask, but the puck bounced right to Nodl, who quickly put it in.

"I was driving to the net, and it hit my stick and I put it in there," Nodl said.

The game was physical, but nowhere near as violent as the previous meeting between the teams. There were no fights or major penalties in the rematch.

NOTES: Flyers RW Daniel Briere served the final game of his three-game suspension, resulting from last week's game against the Islanders. He is eligible to play Sunday at Washington. ... P.A. Parenteau was the only healthy scratch for the Islanders.
