BOSTON (AP) _ A fortunate bounce helped end Glen Murray's brief scoring drought and the Boston Bruins' recent slump.

Murray scored 1:21 into overtime and Andrew Raycroft tied the mark for the most wins by a Boston rookie goaltender in 22 years, lifting the Bruins to a 3-2 victory over the Philadelphia Flyers on Saturday.

Boston was 0-2-1 in its previous three games. Murray also had his troubles, going scoreless in three straight for the just the second time this season.

``We want to carry the team,'' Murray said of himself and linemate Joe Thornton. ``Maybe sometimes you're trying to do too much. You're just not going to score every game. Plain and simple.''

The winning goal, though, simply came from a lucky bounce.

Murray got to an errant clearing pass that bounced off the side boards. He turned and fired a wrist shot that went in off goaltender Robert Esche for an unassisted goal.

Esche made 29 saves in his first start since Feb. 2 after he missed 10 games because of a sprained left knee.

``Two weeks from now he probably would have had the third goal,'' Flyers coach Ken Hitchcock said. ``For the first game back after missing a month, he was fine.''

Esche misplayed the Bruins' second goal before the Flyers tied it midway into the third period.

``I got into some situations with my knee and it felt good,'' Esche said. ``There's no excuses.''

Boston, in a three-way race with Ottawa and Toronto for first place in the Northeast Division, is 9-1-3-3 in its last 16 games.

Raycroft stopped 26 shots and earned his 22nd win of the season, matching Marco Baron's mark set during the 1981-82 season.

``We've got a lot of confidence right now,'' Raycroft said. ``We just want to get better every day.''

Philadelphia, which leads the Atlantic, has dropped four of seven games. The Flyers has 84 points, the most in the NHL.

``It's certainly a team that's been at the top of the league for a long time,'' said Boston defenseman Dan McGillis, formerly of the Flyers. ``These are the games when you take the measuring stick out for yourself.''

Ted Donato and Andy Hilbert also scored for the Bruins.

Alexei Zhamnov and Mark Recchi had the Flyers' goals.

Boston took a 2-1 lead 14 seconds into the third period when Esche lost the rebound of McGillis' shot from the point, and Donato poked the puck in.

Philadelphia tied it at 2 on Zhamnov's rising shot from between the circles that beat Raycroft into the top right corner 8:45 into the third period.

The Flyers jumped ahead 1-0 on Recchi's power-play goal 17:47 into the opening period. Three seconds after a two-man advantage expired, Recchi one-timed Kim Johnsson's pass by Raycroft inside the left post.

Boston tied at 1 when Hilbert scored on the rebound of Craig MacDonald's shot.
