PHILADELPHIA (AP) -- Dean McAmmond skated up the ice during a two-on-one break, looking to make a pass. He's glad he kept the puck and took a shot.

McAmmond scored his second goal with 1:27 left in overtime, leading the Calgary Flames to a 3-2 victory over the Philadelphia Flyers on Tuesday night.

"I was thinking pass the whole way, but (Eric) Weinrich was taking that away, so I just cut to the net and shot it," said McAmmond, who once played for the Flyers.

The Flyers have lost two straight at home after opening the season 12-0-2 at the Wachovia Center.

"It's really frustrating," Flyers coach Ken Hitchcock said. "The Flames weren't even playing in the third period. Their best play was to ice the puck. They were dead. We allowed two scoring chances and they scored on both. They were two soft goals."

Jarome Iginla also scored for the Flames, who have lost just once (6-1-2) in their last nine games.

Jeremy Roenick and John LeClair scored for Philadelphia.

Seconds after the Flyers missed an opportunity to score at the other end, McAmmond took a pass from Chuck Kobasew and broke in on goaltender Jeff Hackett. With defenseman Weinrich standing in the way of pass, McAmmond lifted a shot over Hackett for his seventh goal.

"Dean froze Weino," Flames coach Darryl Sutter said. "Eric played pass. Dean drug it and went upstairs."

McAmmond tied it at 2 by slipping the puck past Hackett during a scramble in front of the net midway through the third period.

Flames goaltender Miikka Kiprusoff made 35 saves. He preserved the tie with a glove save on a slap shot by Kim Johnsson midway through OT.

"They had a lot of point shots and there were always two or three people standing in the front," said Kiprusoff, who improved to 8-2-1.

Before the game, the Flyers acquired the rights to restricted free agent Mike Comrie from the Edmonton Oilers former first-round pick Jeff Woywitka and two draft picks.

Philadelphia leads the NHL with 44 points, and should get better with the addition of Comrie, a 30-goal scorer in just his second season two years ago.

"He is a really competitive, skilled player," Hitchcock said. "He is a natural offensive player."

LeClair gave the Flyers a 2-1 lead on a power-play goal early in the second period. Just six seconds after Josh Green went to the penalty box for slashing, LeClair scored his seventh goal when he redirected a shot by Joni Pitkanen past Kiprusoff.

Hackett stopped 23 shots in his sixth straight start. The Flyers were rotating Hackett with Robert Esche, who is out with a groin injury.

Iginla scored his ninth goal 2:31 into the game to give Calgary a 1-0 lead. Krzysztof Oliwa intercepted a pass from Eric Desjardins near the boards and passed to Iginla, who lifted a shot over Hackett's stick.

The Flyers tied it at 1 on Roenick's goal with 2:23 left in the first. Roenick skated up the left wing, stopped and blasted a shot past Kiprusoff for his 11th goal.

"We made bad plays, bad decisions and it cost us," Flyers captain Keith Primeau said.
