Flyers come rolling into Garden to face Rangers
Dave Lozo  - NHL.com Staff Writer
FLYERS (36-27-4) at RANGERS (30-29-9)

Last 10: Philadelphia 7-2-1; New York 5-3-2

Season series:
This is the fourth of six meetings between the teams, with the Flyers taking 2 of 3 so far. The Flyers came away with a 2-0 victory in their last meeting on Jan. 21 in Philadelphia.

Big story: The Flyers' terrific play of late has moved them into a fairly secure spot in the standings when it comes to playoff positioning. Meanwhile, the Rangers are barely hanging on, three points behind the eighth-place Bruins coming into Sunday.

Team Scope:

Flyers:
They arrive in Manhattan feeling pretty good after Chris Pronger's game-winning goal with 2.1 seconds remaining to beat the Chicago Blackhawks on Saturday. The Flyers trailed 2-1 heading into the final minutes before Scott Hartnell tied it and Pronger won it.

To put it mildly, the confidence is high right now.

"We showed we can play with one of the best teams in the League," said goalie Michael Leighton, who made 39 saves in the victory. "We just had a really good, all-around game."

Rangers: They took a big step toward getting back into the playoff mix Friday with a convincing 5-2 victory in Atlanta. Rangers goaltender Henrik Lundqvist called it a "do or die" game -- and, well, the Rangers aren't dead yet.

But there's still work to be done.

"It's a win, it's a huge two points," coach John Tortorella said, "but we have some pretty good teams coming up here -- and I'm not disrespecting Atlanta here, but these teams are better that we have coming up and we have to be better."

Who's hot:
For the Flyers, Jeff Carter has 3 goals in his last 4 games. … Rangers forward Vinny Prospal has 3 goals and an assist in his last two games, while Marian Gaborik has a goal and 3 assists over that same span.

Injury report:
The Flyers and Rangers enter Sunday afternoon's game with their lineups intact.

Stat pack:
This game kicks off a four-game road trip for the Flyers. … The Rangers have converted 5 of 16 power-play attempts in the last five games. … The Rangers currently lead the NHL with 1,958 hits.

Puck drop:
"We have to continue to play with that type of desperation." -- Pronger, after Saturday's come-from-behind win.
