Flyers-Sabres Preview

GAME: Philadelphia Flyers (20-9-10-5) at Buffalo Sabres (17-21-5-1).

TIME: Tuesday, 7 p.m. EST.

The Philadelphia Flyers will try to snap a five-game winless streak when they face the Buffalo Sabres at the HSBC Arena.

The Flyers lost 2-1 to league-worst Pittsburgh Monday, dropping to 0-3-1-1 during their slide.

Mike Comrie scored for Philadelphia, snapping the Flyers' 127-minute, 31-second scoreless drought. The Flyers, who despite their struggles still own a three-point lead atop the Atlantic Division, were beaten 3-0 by Edmonton on Saturday.

"You're just not going to win hockey games by scoring one goal," Philadelphia coach Ken Hitchcock said. "We are going to need production from our people.

"We're really in a tough state. We have a lot of people right now who are really struggling offensively."

The Flyers, who have been outscored 16-6 during their winless streak, have won just two of their last eight on the road (2-3-2-1).

"We have pucks hitting the post, hitting the net," forward Jeremy Roenick said. "We have to stay together as a team. You hear the fans booing. Everybody is talking about how bad we are. The guys in here have to do it, nobody else."

The Sabres lost 4-3 in Boston on Monday, failing to win for the fourth time in five games (1-2-2). Jochen Hecht had a goal and an assist, and Daniel Briere and Jason Botterill also scored for Buffalo.

"If you look at the entire game, we played pretty solid," Sabres coach Lindy Ruff said. "We didn't give up a whole lot of chances, but when we did, they went in. We missed too many opportunities to bury them."
