Flyers-Blues Preview

GAME: Philadelphia Flyers (18-6-9-4) at St. Louis Blues (21-8-4-1).

TIME: Tuesday, 8 p.m. EST.

After a bitter contract dispute, Mike Comrie is finally back to doing what he loves best -- scoring goals.

Comrie looks for his second goal of the season as his Philadelphia Flyers face the St. Louis Blues at the Savvis Center.

Comrie scored on a rebound in the first period of the Flyers' 2-2 tie with the Dallas Stars on Monday in his second game of the season.

The 23-year-old center was acquired in a trade with Edmonton on Dec. 16 after sitting out the first part of the season because of a contract dispute with the Oilers. Last season, he had 20 goals and 31 assists in 69 games for Edmonton, one year after setting career highs of 33 goals, 60 points and 82 games played.

"He's a really good pure passer which I think is really difficult to find and difficult to do the way the game is played today," Flyers general manager Bob Clarke said after acquiring Comrie.

"He's a very good scorer. He brings a lot of offense to our team."

Philadelphia, which also got a goal from Kim Johnsson on Monday, could use a boost from Comrie as they have gone 4-4-4-3 this month after starting the season 14-2-5-1.

The Flyers are playing the fifth game of a season-high eight-game road trip.

The Blues are coming off Monday's 3-2 win over the Columbus Blue Jackets, snapping a four-game winless streak (0-2-2).

Ryan Johnson scored the game-winner, and Doug Weight had a goal and an assist for St. Louis, which was playing the first of 16 games in 34 days.

Goalie Chris Osgood was injured 3:52 into the game after being struck in the leg by a puck and falling awkwardly. Coach Joel Quenneville said that the puck had deadened a nerve in Osgood's leg.

Backup Brent Johnson finished the game, making 22 saves.
