GAME: Philadelphia Flyers (16-3-6-1) at Montreal Canadiens (12-11-3-1).

The Montreal Canadiens did not put up much of a fight the last time they met the Philadelphia Flyers.

They will look to give the Flyers a more competitive game when they meet at the Bell Centre. But considering the way Philadelphia has been playing of late, that won't be easy.

The Flyers, who trounced the Canadiens 5-0 on Oct. 27, are 12-1-3 since the start of November. They opened their four-game road trip Saturday with a 1-1 tie against the Boston Bruins.

Jeff Hackett made 38 saves and Mark Recchi scored a second-period goal for the Flyers, who have the best record in the NHL.

Hackett, who has been splitting time in goal with Robert Esche, turned in one of his strongest performances of the season.

"He's been complaining he's only got 18, 19 shots so we fixed him this time," Flyers coach Ken Hitchcock joked after the game. "To get a point from a game like this is terrific."

Saturday concluded a stretch of four games in six nights for the Flyers, who beat the Phoenix Coyotes 3-2 on Friday.

"I knew (Saturday) would be probably the toughest game I've had this year," Hackett said. "In the back of my mind, I knew it would be tough. Anytime you play back-to-back."

While Philadelphia has been rolling over opponents for more than a month, Montreal has also been impressive in recent games. The Canadiens are 3-0-2 on their season-high unbeaten streak.

Jose Theodore made 25 saves, and Andreas Dackell, Michael Ryder and Saku Koivu scored to lead Montreal to a 3-1 victory over the Carolina Hurricanes on Saturday.

Theodore also stopped 36 of 37 Carolina shots in a 1-1 road tie Friday.

"We just want to build on it and keep on improving," Theodore said. "(Friday) night we weren't happy with the game we played so we came back tonight and I think we deserved the win. We dominated compared to last night."

Montreal is 11-2-2-1 when it scores first.
