I enjoyed playing with him immensely. When he opened up his mouth to say something, he wasn’t saying it just for the fact of saying it. You knew that he was going to be the first one to do everything he said he was going to do. All he wanted to do was win and you can’t ask for more from a captain. - Jeremy Roenick
KEITH PRIMEAU
2001-02 to 2005-06

His legacy is etched in Flyers’ history forever. Whether it was providing the game-changing hit, a blocked shot, or scoring one big goal after another, Keith Primeau epitomized the role of Flyers captain during his career in Philadelphia.

His heroic efforts were never more evident than when it mattered the most. Primeau helped lead the Flyers to the Eastern Conference Finals in 2004, scoring an amazing nine goals and seven assists for 16 points in just 18 games.

He is best known for scoring one of the most famous goals in the history of the franchise when he ended the third longest game in the history of the NHL.

Through 152 minutes of hockey, Primeau scored the game-winning goal in the fifth overtime against the Pittsburgh Penguins in the 2000 Eastern Conference Semifinals, a goal that changed the series, and the entire playoffs for Philadelphia.

In his six seasons in Philadelphia, Primeau recorded 87 goals and 126 assists for 213 points in 312 regular season games.
