CLAUDE GIROUX, Right Wing: Selected by the Flyers in the first round (22nd overall) of the 2006 NHL Entry Draft...Born on January 12, 1988 in Hearst, Ontario...5'10", 170 pounds...Shoots right...Played this past season for the Gatineau Olympiques of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League...Recorded 39 goals and 64 assists for 103 points and 64 penalty minutes in 69 games for Gatineau...Was first on the team in goals (39 - tied for 19th overall in QMJHL, tied for 1st among QMJHL rookies), assists (64 - 11th overall in QMJHL, 1st among QMJHL rookies), points (103 - tied for 11th overall in QMJHL, 1st among QMJHL rookies) and plus/minus (+30 - tied for 16th overall in QMJHL, second among QMJHL rookies)...Was tied for second on the team in power play goals (14 - tied for first among QMJHL rookies)...Was named to the QMJHL All-Rookie Team for 2005-06...Is teammate of goaltender David Tremblay (drafted by Flyers in fifth round, 140th overall, of the 2003 NHL Entry Draft)...Ranked 38th among North American prospects on Central Scouting's final report.

Central Scouting on Giroux: "Is a good skater with solid playmaking ability who reads the play and is able to move he puck through traffic with pin-point passing...has very good hands, handles the puck well in a crowd...is elusive, creative and patient...hangs on to the puck creating opportunities...is quick to jump into openings and carries the puck with confidence...a clever playmaker who excels killing penalties - he gets many scoring chances...has very good hockey sense with a quick and accurate wrist shot...is not considered a physical player but is not afraid of getting involved competing at home and on the road...is used in all game situations, plays a steady two way game...does not hesitate to be first on the puck and will take a hit to make a play...has a way of angling himself along the boards, which allows him to come out with the puck most of the time...was a walk-on at training camp and signed as a free agent...was selected to play in the 2006 CHL Top Prospects Game in Ottawa."

ANDREAS NODL, Right Wing: Selected by the Flyers in the second round (39th overall) of the 2006 NHL Entry Draft...Born on February 28, 1987 in Vienna, Austria...6'1", 196 pounds...Shoots left...Played this past season for the Sioux Falls Stampede of the United States Hockey League...Registered 29 goals and 30 assists for 59 points and 16 penalty minutes in 58 regular season games for the Stampede...Was first on the team in goals (29, tied for 5th in USHL), points (59, fifth overall in USHL) and power play goals (11)...Was tied for second on the team in assists with 30 (tied for 16th in USHL)...Also led the team in playoff scoring with 15 points (6G,9A) in 14 games...Was named to the USHL First All-Star Team...Recorded seven goals and nine assists for 16 points and 24 penalty minutes in 44 regular season games for Sioux Falls in 2004-05...Named USHL "Fastest Skater" and "MVP" at 2006 USHL All-Star/Prospects Game...Ranked 60th among North American prospects on Central Scouting's final report.

Central Scouting on Nodl: "Is an excellent skater with a long stride...has very good speed with mobility and can beat an opponent one on one to the outside...has excellent hands with a hard wrist shot ...will surprise a goaltender with his quick release...has natural scoring instincts ... goes to the net creating scoring opportunities for both himself and teammates...sees the ice very well and moves the puck at the right time...a smart player who is used in power-play and penalty killing situations...has played both center and wing effectively this season...a motivated and competitive player...not overly physical but does not shy away...will stand his ground and play it smart when opponents try to take him off his game...his play away from the puck is very dependable at both ends of the ice...has made a big improvement in his attitude toward his overall game this season...played in the 2006 USHL All-Star Game - won the fastest skater in the skills competition and was named MVP of the All-Star Game...will attend St. Cloud State University in the fall of 2006."

MICHAEL RATCHUK, Defense: Selected by the Flyers in the second round (42nd overall) of the 2006 NHL Entry Draft...Born February 20, 1988 in Buffalo, New York...5'10", 175 pounds...Shoots left...Played for the United States National Under-18 Team this past season...Recorded 11 goals and 15 assists for 26 points and 50 penalty minutes in 47 games...Played 58 games for the U.S. National Under-17 Team in 2004-05...Ranked 81st among North American prospects on Central Scouting's final report.

Central Scouting on Ratchuk: "An excellent skater with outstanding top end speed...is agile and quick and can separate himself from opponents in an instant...carries the puck end to end with ease, skating and stickhandling through the opposition...passes the puck well...gets it out of his end quickly with a short burst to open ice and a quick outlet pass...is very offensive-minded and will join or in some cases lead the rush...has a good, but not overpowering shot from the point...competes well and tries hard to contain opponents along the boards...lack of size and overall strength make it an effort, but he does get the job done in rubbing out attacking forwards...uses his skating ability to gain control of the puck in the corners rather than trying to out-muscle anyone...will attend Michigan State University in the fall of 2006...was a member of the U.S. Under-17 team in 2004-05."

DENIS BODROV, Defense: Selected by the Flyers in the second round (55th overall) of the 2006 NHL Entry Draft...Born August 22, 1986 in Moscow, Russia...6' 0", 185 pounds...Shoots left...Played this past season for Togliatti in Supereliga (Russia)...Registered two goals and two assists for four points and 42 penalty minutes in 35 games with Togliatti...Ranked 65th among European prospects on Central Scouting's final report.

JONATHAN MATSUMOTO, Center: Selected by the Flyers in the third round (79th overall) of the 2006 NHL Entry Draft...Born October 13, 1986 in Ottawa, Ontario...6'0", 184 pounds...Shoots left...Played this past season for Bowling Green University of the Central Collegiate Hockey Association...Posted 20 goals and 28 assists for 48 points and 43 penalty minutes in 36 games for Bowling Green...Was first on the team in goals (20) and power play goals (12)...Was second on the team in assists (28) and points (48, fifth in CCHA)...Was 12th in country in points per game (1.35) and tied for eighth in points (48)...In 2004-05, he became just the third freshman in BGSU history to lead the team in scoring with 32 points (18G,14A) in 36 games...Ranked 117th among North American prospects on Central Scouting's final report.

JAKUB KOVAR, Goaltender: Selected by the Flyers in the fourth round (109th overall) of the 2006 NHL Entry Draft...Born July 19, 1988, in Pisek, Czechoslovakia...6'0", 176 pounds...Catches left...Played this past season for Budejovice Jr. (Czech Republic Juniors)...Posted a 2.23 GAA, two shutouts and .925 save percentage in 19 games for Budejovice Jr.
