Flyers issue Qualifying Offers
The Philadelphia Flyers have sent qualifying offers to the following players: Jason Akeson, Erik Gustafsson, Brandon Manning & Tye McGinn, according to general manager Ron Hextall.
Akeson, 23 (6/3/1990), appeared in all seven games for the Flyers-Rangers series in the First Round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs, posting two goals and three points. He also appeared in 70 games for the Phantoms this past year, he’s recorded 24 goals and 40 assists for 64 points. The goals and points are a career high, and he’s one assist away from tying that career high. This season marks the third consecutive year that Akeson has led the Phantoms in scoring.
Gustafsson, 25 (12/15/1988), appeared in 31 regular season games for the Flyers this past season, recording 10 points (2g-8a) and added one goal in two Stanley Cup Playoff games. Over parts of four seasons with the Flyers, Gustafsson recorded 23 points (6g-17a) in 91 regular season games.
Manning, 23 (6/4/1990), led the Phantoms defense in scoring with 23 assists and 31 points in 73 games, while also tying for the team lead with 231 penalty minutes. Also in his third full season with the Phantoms, Manning has appeared in 10 regular season games with the Flyers over parts of two seasons, recording two assists. He signed with the Flyers as a free agent on Nov. 23, 2010.
McGinn, 23 (7/29/1990) appeared in 18 games this past season with the Flyers, posting four goals and five points. Over the last two seasons, he has recorded seven goals and 10 points in 36 regular season games with Philadelphia.
