40th Anniversary: By the Numbers
A look at the Flyers success that the first Stanley Cup sparked in the Flyers organization

As the Flyers celebrate the 40th Anniversary of their first Stanley Cup victory,
the below facts & figures look at the Philadelphia Flyers franchise
from that point and since their first season in 1967-68.

8: The Flyers have been to the Stanley Cup Final eight times since 1973-74, which is the most of any NHL team in that timeframe (PHI 8, MTL 7, BOS 7, EDM 7).

15: The Flyers have reached the Conference Final (or equivalent Semifinal) 15 times since 1973-74, which is the most of any NHL team in that timeframe (PHI 15, BOS 12, MTL 12 CHI 12).

15: The Flyers have won 15 division championships since 1973-74, which ranks behind just two teams in the NHL in that timeframe (DET 16, BOS 16, PHI 15, MTL 14, CHI 11).

33: The number of seasons the Flyers have qualified for the Stanley Cup Playoffs since 1973-74 -- Only Boston has missed out on the playoffs fewer times than the Flyers, who tie for second-fewest missed seasons with Montreal since then (BOS 5, MTL 7, PHL 7, STL 8).

1,662: The number of wins since the 1973-74 season -- the Flyers rank first among all NHL teams in both wins and points in the standings.

7: The Flyers were the first NHL expansion team to win the Stanley Cup, doing so in their seventh season. No other team in the expansion era has won a Cup so quickly from the time of its inception. (The Edmonton Oilers won their first Cup in their fifth NHL season, which followed seven seasons in the World Hockey Association.)

5: The number of teams that joined the NHL in the expansion era with the Flyers -- Among those teams that joined the league in 1967-68, the Flyers rank first in Final appearances, first in conference final/semifinal appearances, first in division titles, second in playoff appearances, and second in Stanley Cups won.

150: The number of consecutive sold out home games, including every game plus playoffs over the past three seasons.  The streak began with a crowd of 19,672 on November 18, 2010 vs. Tampa Bay.
