FIVE THINGS: Flyers vs. Buffalo Sabres
Flyers look to snap losing skid and sweep series vs. Sabres

The Flyers will be looking to sweep the season series against the Sabres for the third time in the last six seasons, going 4-0-0 in 2011-12 & 2008-09, and the sixth time in franchise history since the Sabres began play in 1970-71… The Flyers won the first two meetings of the seasons by a combined score of 8-4, but have not met since Jan. 14, when Vinny Lecavalier scored the game-winning goal with 15 seconds left to give the Flyers a 4-3 win at Buffalo… The Flyers have won four straight games on home-ice against the Sabres, having not lost in over three years (Mar. 5, 2011: L, 3-5)… The Flyers own a 48-20-12-3 record at home against the Sabres and will be looking for their 81st win against Buffalo in 164 meetings, going 80-58-20-5 against Buffalo.

Buffalo has also dropped five straight games on the road, while the Flyers have dropped two straight on home ice, but own a 5-2-1 record in their last seven home games and own the fourth-most wins on home-ice in the Eastern Conference (23)… The Flyers also come into tonight winless in six of their last seven games (1-4-2), including four straight games, going 0-2-2 in that four-game span - the Flyers have not lost five in-a-row in any fashion this season and have not lost five straight in three years (Mar. 31-Apr. 8, 2011)… The Sabres come into tonight with a 1-2-1 mark in their last four games, all of which have been decided by one-goal margins… The Sabres have scored a power-play goal in each of their last three games, while the Flyers have allowed just two goals on the penalty kill in their last 26 times shorthanded (24-for-26).

Tonight is the second of games on back-to-back days for the Flyers, who are 8-4-0 this year, and have won two in a row under that circumstance… The Flyers play their second to last home game of the season, before going on a six-day road trip for the next three games beginning tomorrow, and finish off the 2013-14 regular season one week from today when they face off against the Hurricanes… April has been the Sabres’ best month since 2005-06, where they own a 32-17-3 record for a .644 win percentage over the last eight seasons… The Sabres have 10 of their 21 victories this season in overtime… Buffalo has only led after the second period in eight out of 77 games so far this season, but are 6-0-2 when doing so… The Sabres have had a franchise record 44 different players play at least one game this season and have had five different goaltenders play for the first time since 1995-96.

Hartnell is one point shy of his 3rd 50-point season in his 13-year career, ranking fourth on the Flyers with 49 points (20g-29a) in 73 games… He is tied for the team lead in plus-minus (+9 - with Erik Gustafsson) and is second with nine power-play goals… Hartnell leads the Flyers in the season series against the Sabres with four points (2g-2a) in two games… He averages nearly a point-per-game pace with 28 points (13g-15a) in 31 career games against the Sabres.
Tyler Ennis leads the Sabres in scoring with 21 goals, which is a new career-high, and 41 points in 75 games… He has two goals and three points in his last three games and has averaged over 20 minutes of ice-time in each of his last four games… Since the halfway mark of the season, Ennis has posted 26 points (13g-13a) in 34 games, compared to 15 points in the first 41 games of the year… Ennis has a goal and an assist in the two meetings against the Flyers this season and career-wise, he owns seven points (3g-4a) in 13 games.
