The Flyers and Blue Jackets come in as the third and fourth seed in the Metropolitan Division with the Flyers owning a four-point lead over Columbus having played the same amount of games… Columbus holds the final wildcard spot in the Eastern Conference, one point ahead of Toronto with two games in hand… The Flyers remain three points behind the NY Rangers for second-place and home-ice advantage in the First Round of the playoffs, but own two games in hand over the Rangers… Despite going 1-2-2 in their last five games, the Flyers have earned points in their last three games going 1-0-2… The Blue Jackets have earned points in three of their last four games, going 2-1-1… Columbus has also gone 4-1-0 in their last five road games, while the Flyers have gone 5-1-1 in their last seven games at the Wells Fargo Center.
The Flyers wrap up their first season series with the Blue Jackets since being in the same Division… They are 1-2-0 in the previous three meetings and, since taking the first meeting, 5-4 on Dec. 19, the Flyers have dropped two straight to Columbus… The three games have seen a combined 25 goals scored (CBJ: 15, PHI: 10) and of the 25 goals, only four have come on special teams (CBJ: 2ppg-1shg, PHI: 1ppg)… Of Columbus' 15 goals, 13 have been scored by a different player, while eight different players have scored the 10 Flyers goals… Claude Giroux leads the Flyers with five points (2g-3a) and a +4 rating in three games, while six different Blue Jackets lead Columbus with three points in the season series… The Flyers are unbeaten in regulation at home against the Blues Jackets in franchise history, going 5-0-1-0.
Tonight is Vincent Lecavalier's 1,100th game in the NHL… Jakub Voracek and Scott Hartnell have both averaged a point-per-game recently with Voracek posting seven points (3g-4a) in his last seven games and Hartnell recording eight points (4g-4a) in his last eight games… Tuesday's game was the fourth time the Flyers have been shutout this year and first time since Dec. 2 - in all three previous games they have been shut out this season, they've responded with a win… Brandon Dubinsky has recorded 25 of his 45 points (9g-16a) in 28 Metropolitan Division games this season… Columbus has scored four of their last 10 goals on the power play and gone 4-for-11 (36.3%) on the man-advantage in their last four games… The Blue Jackets are 9-5-1 in their last 15 road games and have set a franchise-record 18 road games this season… Today is Hall of Fame goaltender Bernie Parent's 69th birthday.
|Today is the one-year anniversary of Steve Mason being traded to the Flyers… Mason comes into tonight's game on a three-day rest, having last dropped a 4-3 shootout loss to the Bruins on Sunday afternoon… Despite the loss, Mason went 8-2-2 during the month of March with a 2.48 GAA and .917 save percentage, stopping 330 of 360 shots, and also went 6-1-1 at home… Mason is just two wins shy of tying his career-high in wins, 33 set in his rookie season as a member of the Columbus Blue Jackets, and is four games shy of his 300th game played in the NHL… Mason earned the Flyers only win against the Blue Jackets this season back on Dec. 19.
||Bobrovsky comes into tonight with a 7-4-2 record, 2.20 GAA and .926 save percentage in his last 14 starts… He owns an overall record of 27-19-5 with a 2.47 GAA and .919 save percentage… Bobrovsky is one win shy of tying his career mark of 28 set in his rookie season with the Flyers in 2010-11… He owns 20 of his 27 victories against Eastern Conference opponents… He has faced his former team only once, earning a 5-2 win on Jan. 23… Bobrovsky represented Russia for the first time in his career at the 2014 Olympics, going 1-0-1 with a 1.15 GAA and .952 save percentage.
