FIVE THINGS: Flyers vs Chicago Blackhawks
Flyers take on defending Champs to open up homestand

The Flyers return home after completing a weekend sweep of the Penguins in which they outscored Pittsburgh, 8-3… Tonight opens up a four-game homestand for the Flyers, who have won six of their last eight games at home, going 6-2-0, and since Nov. 9 they have gone 17-5-1 at the Wells Fargo Center… This is the second meeting of the season between the two clubs as the Flyers dropped a 7-2 contest at Chicago on Dec. 11 with the Blackhawks scoring five times in the second period… The Flyers and Blackhawks have not met more than once in a regular-season since 2002-03 and the Flyers own a nine-game regular-season winning streak here at the Wells Fargo Center against the Blackhawks, with Chicago’s last win coming on Nov. 9, 1996 (L, 1-4)… The Flyers have had a lot of regular season success against the Blackhawks, only dropping three games in the last 18 regular season meetings dating back to Dec. 12, 1997 posting a record of 15-3-0 in that span.

Chicago comes in as the NHL's highest-powered offense, ranking No. 1 in the NHL with 3.32 goals-per-game and leading the League with 226 goals scored, while holding the third-best goal differential in the NHL at +52, having allowed 181 goals… They have scored five or more goals an NHL-best 23 times this season… The Blackhawks have lost three of their last four games on the road and since the Olympic break, own a 4-4-0 record… Blackhawks head coach Joel Quenneville will be looking for his 700th win in the NHL tonight - he leads active coaches and sits third on the NHL's all-time wins list with his 699 victories.

Claude Giroux comes into tonight tied for fourth in the NHL in scoring with 69 points (23g-46a) and has a three-game assist streak (5a), and has recorded a point in six of seven games in the month of March, posting 12 points (4g-8a) and four multi-point games… The Blackhawks have seven players with at least 10 goals this season, while the Flyers have eight players… Chicago has an 8-2-1 record against the Metropolitan Division and 16-3-5 mark over the Eastern Conference, while the Flyers own a 12-9-0 mark against the Western Conference and 4-4-2 record against the Central Division… The Blackhawks are the second-least penalized team in the NHL, 8.3 PIM per-game, while the Flyers are the NHL's most penalized team at 15.1 PIM per-game.

Voracek has found the scoresheet in five of his last six games, posting three goals and six assists for nine points in that span… His nine points in the month of March ranks second on the team (only to Giroux)… Voracek is also one point shy of tying his career-high in points (50 - set in 2009-10)… He currently ranks second on the team in assists (31) and third overall in points (49)… Voracek is also the least penalized player in the regular lineup for the Flyers (more than 30 games played) with only 10 penalty minutes in 67 games so far this season… Voracek posted a goal in the Flyers only meeting with Chicago this season and has 15 points (5g-10a) in 20 career games against the Blackhawks. The Blackhawks captain comes in as the hottest player on the team, posting eight goals and nine points in his last seven games, and has 24 points (12g-12a) in his last 25 games, recording at least a point in 18 of those contests… On the Blackhawks, Toews ranks 3rd in scoring with 64 points (27g, 37a) in 68 games and leads all forwards in ice time per-game, averaging 20:34… He is tied for 7th in the NHL in faceoff percentage (56.7%) and 4th in faceoff wins (782)… Against the Flyers, Toews has three points (1g-2a) in five career games.
