OFFICIAL NHL GAME NOTES  I PHI vs NJD: A Deeper Look
1. LATELY THE TEAMS…
The Flyers enter tonight's game having recorded a point in their last four games, going 3-0-1 and eight of their last nine games, going 7-1-1… The Flyers have also won two straight games on home ice and five of their last six at the Wells Fargo Center, and since Nov. 9 the Flyers own a 16-4-1 record at home… The Devils own a 4-2-0 record since returning from the Olympic break and have scored four-or-more goals in five of those six games… They have also earned a point in the standings in eight of their last 11 games to sit two points behind the final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference with 69 points.

2. TURNPIKE RIVALRY
Tonight is the fourth and final meeting of the season between the Flyers and Devils with the four games being the least amount of games played between the two in a season series since the 1994-95 lockout shortened season and just the second time since the franchise moved to New Jersey in 1982-83 that the two teams have played less than five games in a season series against each other… The Flyers own a 2-1-0 mark this year against the Devils with two of the three games decided by shutouts… Both Ray Emery and Martin Brodeur played in all three games of the season series… Only one of the combined nine goals scored in the season series by both teams came on the power play, despite a combined 24 power-play opportunities (PHI: 1-for-13, NJ: 0-for-11).

3. THIS, THAT & THE OTHER
The Flyers have scored a goal in the third period in 12 straight games, posting 21 goals in that stretch, and are second in the NHL for most goals scored in the third period (75)…Of the Devils 65 games this season, 39 have been decided by one goal… The Devils are unbeaten in regulation when leading after the second period, going 18-0-4… New Jersey is the NHL's least penalized team at 7.9 PIMs per game, while the Flyers are the NHL's most penalized team at 15.5 PIMs per game… Jakub Voracek has posted three straight multi-point games for the Flyers, recording three goals and four assists for seven points in that stretch… In his four games returning from the Olympics, Kimmo Timonen has five assists and seven points, posting three multi-point games…  Jaromir Jagr leads the Devils in points (55) and game-winning goals (5) this season - he set a new NHL record, surpassing Gordie Howe, this season by scoring his 122nd career game-winning goal on Dec. 18 vs. Ottawa.

4. Player to watch FLYERS: Brayden Schenn (C: 10)
The younger Schenn brother has points in two straight games and four of his last five contests with two goals and three assists for five points in that stretch… Schenn has set a career-high in goals (16), assists (20) and points (36) this season and is one of six Flyers to have scored 15 goals or more on the season and one of eight Flyers with 20 or more assists… Against the Devils, Schenn has three points (2g-1a) in three games of the season series.

5. Player to watch DEVILS: Adam Henrique (C: 14)
Henrique comes into tonight's game as the hottest player in the NHL, riding a six-game goal-scoring streak where he has nine goals and 11 points in that stretch… He was just named the NHL's Third Star of the Week for posting four goals and six points in his last three games… He leads the Devils in goals (23), which is also a new career high, and is tied for the team lead with seven power-play goals… Henrique leads the Devils with three short-handed goals this season - he has nine total SHG since the start of the 2011-12 season, which are the most in the NHL in that span… Against the Flyers, Henrique has six goals and nine points in 12 career games, including two goals in the season series thus far.
