Any concerns about a slippage in Steve Mason\u2019s game can probably be put in the circular file after Saturday.

Any concerns about a slippage in Steve Mason’s game can probably be put in the circular file after Saturday.

Mason was sensational, picking up his second shutout in his past three starts as the Flyers defeated the Los Angeles Kings 2-0 at Staples Center.

Mason made 35 saves, and was the difference in a game in which the Flyers were only able to muster 13 shots, tying a franchise record for the fewest in a game and setting a mark for the fewest in a win.

Wayne Simmonds scored his 100th career goal – appropriately against the team who drafted him – to get the game winner while Claude Giroux added an insurance marker in the third period with a power play tally – the sixth consecutive game the Flyers scored a power play goal.

Both goals came off of pretty passes – Vinny Lecavalier set up Simmonds and Scott Hartnell fed Giroux.

Giroux and Simmonds each finished with two points.

With the win, the Flyers moved back into a playoff spot in the Eastern Conference, and improved their record against Western Conference foes to 9-8-2, one of only two Metropolitan Division teams with a winning record against the West.
