OFFICIAL NHL GAME NOTES  I PHI at LAK: A Deeper Look
1. STORYLINES...
This is the eighth day/morning start time for the Flyers who own a 2-3-2 record in that scenario… The Flyers have dropped their last three games on the road and five of their last six games, going 1-4-1… The Flyers have scored a goal on the power-play in five consecutive games, going 5-for-16 (31.2%) and also posted a goal on the man-advantage in 11 of their last 14 contests, going 12-for-52 (23.1%)… Today is the first game that Jeff Carter will be playing against the Flyers since being traded nearly three years ago, while it is also the first game that Brayden Schenn will be playing against the Kings… Former Flyer Justin Williams has the most points of any player on the Kings roster against the Flyers in his career, posting 14 points (7g-7a) in 19 games… Ray Emery owns a 2-0-1 record with a 1.35 GAA and .955 save percentage against the Kings in his career.

2. AN LA STORY
The Kings come into tonight's game having dropped seven of their last eight games, including their last two… During that eight-game span, LA has scored just 10 goals, averaging 1.25 goals-per-game, and have scored just three goals in their last five games…  Since Dec. 23, the Kings have posted a 5-12-2 record… Goaltender Jonathan Quick has appeared in 13 of the Kings last 14 games… The Kings are undefeated, in any fashion, when leading after the second period, going 16-0-0, this season… LA has allowed two goals or fewer in 30 of the last 41 games.

3. THE SERIES…
This is the first of two meetings against the Kings this season (Mar. 24 at PHI)… This is also the first meeting at Los Angeles in three years with the last game coming on Dec. 30, 2010 when current LA center Mike Richards led the Flyers with four points (2g-2a) in a 7-4 victory over the Kings… The Flyers are 3-0-1 over the last nine years at LA, with the last Kings victory in regulation coming on Oct. 21, 2003 (4-0)… All-time, the Flyers own a 40-21-8-1 record in Los Angeles and an 82-37-15-3 mark since the two teams joined the NHL together in 1967.

4. Player to watch FLYERS: Jakub Voracek (RW: 93)
Voracek has posted two points, both assists, in his last three games, but went scoreless at Anaheim on Thursday - he has not gone two straight games without a points since the beginning of the month (Dec. 31-Jan. 2)… Voracek has 11 points (5g-6a) in 15 games on the month… He ranks second on the team in assists (24) and tied for second in overall points (38 - with Simmonds)… Against the Kings, Voracek has three goals and seven points in 13 career games.

5. Player to watch KINGS: Anze Kopitar (C: 11)
The Kings have posted just three goals in their last five games - and all three goals have come from Kopitar… He has points in eight of the last 12 games, recording eight points (3g-5a)… Kopitar leads the Kings in scoring with 43 points, ranking second in goals (16) and assists (27)… He is tied for the team lead in game-winning-goals (5) and is third on the squad in time-on-ice per-game (21:11), which leads all forwards and ranks seventh in the NHL among all forwards… Against the Flyers, Kopitar has a goal and four assists in eight career games.
