OFFICIAL NHL GAME NOTES  I PHI at ANH: A Deeper Look
1. HITTING THE WEST COAST
The Flyers open up a three-game, six-day road trip tonight in Anaheim for their 30th road game of the year, posting a .500 mark of 12-12-5 away from the Wells Fargo Center… All three teams on the road trip have winning percentages at or over .600, and rank in the top three spots in the Pacific Division (1. Anaheim: .754; 2. San Jose: .685; 3. Los Angeles: .600) as well as the Top 9 in the entire NHL (1. ANH; 5. SJ; 9. LA)… The Flyers have scored a power-play goal in five of their last six games o the road, going 6-for-26 (23%)… Brayden Schenn leads the Flyers in goals on the road, posting 10 of his overall 14 goals this season away from the Wells Fargo Center.

2. FACING THE DUCKS
The Ducks come into tonight's game as the No. 1 team in the NHL with a record of 39-11-5 for 83 points… They have put together three separate winning-streaks this season of at least seven games, including a season-high 10-game streak from Dec. 6-28… Anaheim has lost just four games all season on home-ice and only twice in regulation play, going 21-2-2, however the two regulation losses have both come in the last week of play… The Ducks have either led or have been tied after the 2nd period in 44 of their 55 games so far this season, having won 29 of the 32 games, going 29-1-2, when they have the lead, and 8-2-2 when tied after two… The Ducks also own two of the Top 5 players in the NHL in scoring in Ryan Getzlaf (3rd: 25g-36a--61pts) and Corey Perry (5th: 28g-30a--58pts).

3. THE MATCH-UP
This is the second and final meeting of the year against Anaheim, who took the first meeting on Oct. 29 by overcoming a 2-0 Flyers lead to score three unanswered goals and walk away with a 3-2 win… Wayne Simmonds had two assists to lead the Flyers while Kyle Palmieri had two goals to lead Anaheim… This is just the second time in the last 10 years that the Flyers will face the Ducks twice in one season… This is also just the fifth game at Anaheim for the Flyers over the last nine season - The Flyers are 3-1-0 in the previous four meetings since then and own an overall mark of 6-4-2-1 at Anaheim.

4. Player to watch FLYERS: Claude Giroux (C: 28)
For the second straight game Giroux is tonight's player to watch… He has goals in his last two games and has six points in his last four games, posting three goals and three assists, including a three-point night (1g-2a) in the Flyers' 5-0 win over Detroit… He currently is tied for 18th in the NHL in points, but since his first goal of the season on Nov. 9, he ranks sixth overall in the NHL in scoring with 43 points (16g-27a)… Against the Ducks, Giroux averages a point-per-game with six points (2g-4a)… He leads the team in points (50) and assists (34) and is second in goals (16).

5. Player to watch DUCKS: Corey Perry (RW: 10)
Perry is one of the hottest Ducks coming into tonight's game, recording a point in six of his last seven games, posting three goals and six assists for nine points in that span… Perry is also at the top of the NHL leader board this season - he is tied for second overall with 28 goals and leads the NHL with nine game-winning goals… He is also alone in fifth-place overall in the NHL with 58 points… He is tied for second overall in the NHL with a plus-minus rating of +26… Although he didn't find the scoresheet in the first meeting of the year against the Flyers, Perry has six assists and seven points in eight career games against the Ducks.
