OFFICIAL NHL GAME NOTES  I PHI at NYR: A Deeper Look
1. BOUNCE BACK MATERIAL
The Flyers play the second-half of games on back-to-back nights after a 6-3 loss vs. Tampa Bay on Saturday… The Flyers own an 6-2-0 record and have won each of their last six games in the second game, including four of the victories coming by one goal… The Flyers own an 8-7-1 in games that follow a regulation loss and have gone 5-0-1 in their last six games that have followed a regulation loss… On the road, the Flyers have earned wins in two straight and five of their last six away from the Wells Fargo Center with four of the six games decided by one goal.

2. WELCOME TO MSG
The Flyers travel to Madison Square Garden for the first time this season… In the only meeting so far with the Rangers this year, the Flyers earned a 2-1 win on Oct. 24… However the Flyers have gone six straight games at MSG without a win dating back to the 2010-11 season with Feb. 20, 2011 being their last win (4-2)… The Rangers come in having won three of their last four games, including two straight, and have picked up points in eight of their last 10 games, going 7-2-1 in that span… The Flyers play their 274th all-time game against the New York Rangers - it is the most games played for the Flyers against any other opponent, including the most road games of any other opponent (136)… Overall, the Flyers own a 117-112-37-7 record and 51-59-23-3 road record against the Rangers.

3. THIS, THAT & THE OTHER
The Rangers are one points in the standings behind the Flyers and Washington Capitals with 49 points - a win in regulation tonight, combined with a Capitals loss in regulation, and they could move from fourth place to second place in the Metropolitan… The Flyers will move into second place with a win of any kind, combined with a loss of any kind by the Capitals OR if the Flyers gain one point and the Caps lose in regulation… The Flyers have scored at least one goal in the second period in nine of their last 10 games… The Rangers have scored a goal on the power play in each of their last four games, going 5-for-14 (35.7%)… The Flyers have now killed off 22 consecutive shorthanded situations over the last seven games - It’s their longest streak of consecutive kills since they stopped 37 in a row over parts of 10 games from March 4-21, 2007… Rangers defenseman Dan Girardi has 23 points in his career against the Flyers, not one of them is a goal - all 23 points are assists.

4. Player to watch FLYERS: Wayne Simmonds (RW: 17)
Simmonds has been one of the most consistent Flyers as of late, recording at least a point in 10 of his last 12 games with 10 goals and 15 points during that stretch… Simmonds leads the Flyers in goals (15) and power-play goals (8), while ranking third on the team with 30 points… Against the Rangers, Simmonds has six goals and 10 points in 16 career games, but went scoreless in the first and only meeting this season against the Blueshirts.

5. Player to watch RANGERS: Brad Richards  (C: 19)
Richards is currently riding a four-game point streak with two goals and six points… He leads the Rangers in points (33), assists (22) and is tied for with 33 points…  Richards has 13 points (2g-11a) in 16 games this season against Metropolitan Division opponents… Richards averages nearly a point per-game pace in his career against the Flyers, posting 11 goals and 30 assists for 41 points in 42 games - He also scored the lone Rangers goal in their loss to the Flyers on Oct. 24.
