3. THIS, THAT & THE OTHER
The Flyers have scored at least one goal in the third period in their last eight games and, of their 31 total goals in that span, 14 have been scored in the third period… The Flyers will face the NHL's 1st overall draft pick this past season, Nathan MacKinnon, who ranks second among all rookies in scoring with 24 points (10g-14a) in 39 games… Hockey Hall of Fame goaltender Patrick Roy is in his first season as head coach of the Avalanche - he became the first coach in NHL history to win 14 of his first 16 career games… The Avalanche have led after the 2nd period in 22 of their 39 games so far this season and are unbeaten in regulation in that situation, going 21-0-1… Tonight marks the first game against their former teams for Steve Downie and Max Talbot since the two were traded for each other on Oct. 31.

Scott Hartnell comes into tonight riding a five-game point streak in which he has six points (2g-4a) - it is his longest point streak since the 2011-12 season when he had a seven-game streak (3g-7a) that started against the Avalanche at Colorado from Dec. 19-Jan. 5… Hartnell has posted 14 of his 19 total points on the year while playing on the road with five goals and nine assists away from the Wells Fargo Center… In 29 career games against the Avalanche, Hartnell has seven goals and 17 points.
