GAME NOTES  I NHL.com Preview
1. THE FLYERS LATELY
The Flyers come into tonight riding a two-game winning streak and are winners of four of their last five games, while earning points in six of their last seven games (5-1-1)… The Flyers have scored four of their last seven goals on the power-play, going 4-for-9 in the last two games… Tonight is the second and last meeting on the year against the Canucks, who took a 3-2 win over the Flyers in Philadelphia on Oct. 15… Tonight is just the fourth meeting in Vancouver in the last 10 years for the Flyers - they own an overall record of 31-11-12-0, and prior to a loss in 2010-11 season, the Flyers had won seven straight games on the road against Vancouver.

2. ABOUT THE OPPONENT
The Flyers come into tonight playing one of the hottest teams in the NHL in Vancouver… The Canucks have gone 10-1-1 in the month of December and have won their last three games… The Canucks have also won six straight games on home ice, out-scoring their opponent, 20-6… Vancouver owns the NHL's best penalty-killing unit at 89.4 percent (110-for-123)… The Canucks own a 12-4-2 record against the Eastern Conference, with eight of those wins coming against the Metropolitan Division (8-2-1).

3. GOING FOR HISTORY
With his two goals on Saturday at Edmonton, Wayne Simmonds posted his third straight two-goal game, becoming the third Flyer in history do so (Reggie Leach - twice & Ross Lonsberry)… Should Simmonds post a multi-goal game tonight he would be the first player in Flyers history to record four consecutive multi-goal games… Beyond going for the record, Simmonds has a five-game point streak and is looking to tie his career-high six-game streak back in 2009 with the LA Kings… He currently has seven goals and nine assists on this current streak… He has as many points in December (12) as he did in the first two months of the season combined - Oct. (4) and Nov. (8).

4. Player(s) to watch FLYERS: Jakub Voracek (RW: 93) & Claude Giroux (C: 28)
Not to be overlooked by Simmonds streak, two Flyers are looking to extend career-high streaks of their own… Jakub Voracek is currently riding a nine-game point streak in which he has six goals and nine assists for 15 points, including five multi-point games… Flyers captain Claude Giroux is looking to extend his point streak to nine games - he has five goals and 10 assists during his eight-game streak and also has five multi-point games during the streak… Voracek has nine points (1g-8a) in 14 career games against the Canucks, while Giroux has six points (1g-5a) in just five career games against Vancouver.

5. Player to watch CANUCKS: Ryan Kesler - (C: 17)
Ryan Kesler posted two of the three Canucks goals, including the game-winner, to lead Vancouver to a 3-2 win over the Flyers on Oct. 15… He is tied for 5th in the NHL in game-winning goals (5) this season… Kesler has 22 points (12g-10a) in his last 29 games… He ranks second among all NHL forwards in time-on-ice per-game, averaging 22:05… Against the Flyers in his career, Kesler has five goals and six points in six games.

QUOTABLE
"I liked our game but we still did some uncharacteristic things that could have cost us the game, and you can't do that… especially on the road."
- Craig Berube
