GAME NOTES  I NHL.com Preview
1. FLYERS AGAINST BIG D
This is the first of two meetings and only meeting in Dallas against the Stars… It's only the fourth meeting in Dallas in the last seven years - the previous three meetings in Dallas have all been Flyers victories… In fact, the Flyers have won six straight overall games against Dallas dating back to 2008-09, out-scoring them 22-12 in the process - The last Dallas victory over the Flyers came on Dec. 1, 2007 (L, 4-1)… Since the team moved to Dallas, from being the Minnesota North Stars, in 1993-94, the Flyers own an overall record of 9-7-9 - with nine ties, and a 4-5-0 record in Dallas.

2. ALL ABOUT THE STARS
The Stars come into today's game earning points in each of their last five games, going 2-0-3, with four of the last five games being decided by one goal… The Stars have had a third of their games (9-of-27) decided past regulation play this season… Dallas has the NHL's worst power-play on home ice, recording just one goal on 37 opportunities thus far… The Stars have allowed a goal on the power-play in eight of their last 11 games… The Stars have posted 30 shots or more in five of their last seven games, 40 or more shots in three of those contests, including a season-high 50 shots on goal in their last game, a 3-2 overtime loss at Toronto.

3. ALL ABOUT THE FLYERS
The Flyers enter Game 4 and Day 8 of their six-game, 13-day road trip after going 2-1-0 so far… The Flyers went a perfect 3-for-3 on the power-play at Detroit marking the first time all season they went perfect on the man-advantage - The Flyers have not gone perfect on the power-play in back-to-back games since they went perfect in four straight games last season (Mar. 24-30, 2013)… The Flyers own the NHL's second-best power-play unit on the road at 26.7 percent (12-for-45) and have scored a goal on the power-play in seven of their last nine road games… The Flyers are 9-3-1 in their last 13 games and 3-1-0 in their last four games… The Flyers earned their first win of the season when trailing after two periods in their 6-3 win at Detroit last game, and their six-goal output was a new season-high… Sean Couturier (5g-5a), Matt Read (5g-3a) & Steve Downie (1g-6a) have combined for 25 points in the last 10 games (11g-14a).

4. Player to watch FLYERS: Sean Couturier - (C) #14
Couturier comes into today's game as the Flyers hottest player - he has posted four goals and six points in his last four games (recording at least a point in three of the four games)… Couturier has been the Flyers leading scorer since Nov. 19, posting 10 points (5g-5a) in nine games… He leads the Flyers in plus-minus with a +10 rating and his 14 points on the year (5g-9a) are tied for third overall on the team... Today is also Couturier's birthday - he turns 21-years old.

5. Player to watch STARS: Tyler Seguin - (C) #91
Seguin leads the Stars with 12 goals in 25 games so far this season, while ranking second on the team in points (23)… He also leads all Stars forwards in time-on-ice, averaging 19:22 per game… Seguin has been slowed recently, not recording a point in five-straight games, while missing two of the last three Stars games with a concussion… This is Seguin's first game against the Flyers as a member of the Stars - he recorded five goals and eight points in 10 games against the Flyers as a member of the Boston Bruins.

QUOTABLE
"It feels a little different. I was here for a lot of years and now coming back and playing against them for the first time - it's going to feel a little weird, but definitely exciting."
- Nicklas Grossmann
