GAME NOTES  I NHL.com Preview
1. LOGGING MILES
The Flyers kick off their season-long, six-game, 13-day road trip tonight in Nashville… During the trip, the club will travel 6,801 miles including the return flight home and change time zones on five different occasions… The Flyers play four teams from the Western Conference (Nashville, Minnesota, Dallas & Chicago) and two from the East, neither of which are Metropolitan Division opponents (Detroit & Ottawa)… The Flyers aren't done after this trip either - of the next 18 games, 14 will come on the road and 10 of the next 18 opponents will be members of the Western Conference.

2. WHATS THE OCCASION?
Tonight is the first of two meetings on the year against the Predators - it is the first meeting since Feb. 2, 2012… The Flyers have only played 16 times since Nashville's expansion year in 1998-99… The two clubs have met just five times in the last six years and only four times IN Nashville over the last 11 seasons, losing all four times… The Flyers have not won in Nashville since Mar. 21, 2000 and own a total record of 2-1-2-2 against the Predators in the Music City… Overall against the Preds, the Flyers have a 7-3-3-3 mark.

3. THIS, THAT & THE OTHER
The two clubs have made more trades with each other (17) than they have played games against each other (16)… The Preds come into tonight's game earning wins in five of their last seven games while out-scoring their opponent 21-11 in the process… The Flyers come in having won seven of their last 10, going 7-2-1, but have dropped their last two road games… The Predators have had a perfect penalty-killing unit in their last seven games, going 17-for-17… Nashville has yet to lose in regulation in one-goal games, going 6-0-2 - they have also not lost in regulation when they lead after the first and second periods, going 9-0-1 in each category… The Flyers own the NHL's third best power-play on the road, going 9-for-37 (24.3%)

4. Player to watch FLYERS: Vincent Lecavalier - (C) #40
Lecavalier continues to lead the Flyers in goals (9) and power-play goals (5) and is third on the squad with 14 points (9g-5a) in 20 games… Six of his nine goals have come on the road so far… Lecavalier has at least a point in four of his last six games (2g-2a)… He averages nearly a point-per-game against the Preds in his career, recording seven goals and seven assists for 14 points in 16 career meetings.

5. Player to watch PREDATORS: Matt Cullen - (C) #7
The 37-year-old signed with the Predators this past summer and will play in his 1,100th game in the NHL tonight… Cullen has recorded nine of his 13 points (3g-6a) on the year in the last seven games, recording at least a point in four of those contests, including three multi-points games in that span…  Against the Flyers in his career, he has 15 points (11g-14a) in 41 regular season games.

QUOTABLE
"I think it's a good time to get on the road with the team. I think it's a good time to get focused and get to where we need to get to. I don't view it as grueling, I view it as an opportunity."
- Flyers head coach Craig Berube
