GAME NOTES  I NHL.com Preview
1. POINT STREAK
The Flyers come into tonight's game looking for points in six straight games, going 4-0-1 in that span… The Flyers have scored four or more goals in three of those contests and have out-scored their opponents 18-7 in that span… Brayden Schenn (3g-3a) and Jakub Voracek (2g-4a) are tied for the team lead with six points during this point streak, while  Claude Giroux, Kimmo Timonen, Mark Streit and Braydon Coburn lead with a +5 rating… The Flyers have also gone 41.6 percent (5-for-12) on the power play in that span.

2. THE SABRES
This is the first of three meetings on the year against the Sabres and first of two on home ice… The Sabres come into tonight's game without a general manager, having relieved their GM and head coach on Nov. 13… Ted Nolan was named interim head coach and Pat Lafontaine was named the President of Hockey Operations… The Flyers have posted a 4-1-0 record at home against the Sabres in the last three years and have won the last three meetings at the Wells Fargo Center.

3. THIS, THAT & THE OTHER
The Sabres have scored just four goals in the first period this season, posting 35 of their 39 goals in the second & third periods… The Sabres come into tonight's game with the lowest goals-per-game average (1.70) and tied for the lowest goal output (39)… Three of the Sabres five victories this season have come in a shootout - they are 3-for-3 in shootouts… Steve Downie has points in three of his last four games, posting three assists in that span… Claude Giroux averages over a point-per-game against the Sabres in his career with 20 points (4g-16a) in 18 games… The Flyers have held their opponent to
two goals or fewer in 12 out of their 20 games.

4. Player to watch FLYERS: Jakub Voracek - (RW) #93
Voracek comes into tonight as the hottest Flyer with a five-game point streak - he has recorded two goals and four assists for six points during that stretch… Overall, he has 10 points on the year with three goals and seven assists… Voracek has seven assists and eight career points in 11 games against the Sabres.

5. Player to watch SABRES: Matt Moulson - (LW) #26
Since coming over from the NY Islanders in a trade for Tomas Vanek, Moulson has nine points (2g-7a) in his first 10 games with the Sabres… He also has 17 points (7g-10a) in his last 16 games… Currently, Moulson is T-4th among all players with five power play goals… Moulson has struggled against the Flyers though - posting just nine points (4g-5a) in 24 career games against the Orange & Black.

QUOTABLE
"I think early on we were tight in third periods and now I believe we know we can win the game and we go out and try to win it."
