1. THE RIVALRY AT THREE RIVERS
The Flyers have won six of their last eight games at Pittsburgh, since the CONSOL Energy Center opened in 2010-11, going 6-1-1 in that span… The last two games have been decided by one goal and in five of the last six games at Pittsburgh, the teams have combined to score six or more goals… Since the arena opened, the Flyers have scored 30 goals in eight games - an average of 3.25 goals-per-game… The Flyers own an all-time record of 50-56-22-4 at Pittsburgh.

2. LATELY THE TEAMS
The Pens have had three days off from game action with their last game coming last Saturday… They have dropped five of their last nine games, including their last two… The Flyers come into Pittsburgh winners of two straight and outscoring the opposition 9-2… The have also earned points in each of their last four road games, going 3-0-1 and outscoring the opponent 12-4… The Flyers have also gone 5-3-1 in their last eight games and have earned points in four of their last five games, holding opponents to seven goals (1.40 per game).

3. THIS, THAT & THE OTHER
This is the second meeting of the year between the two teams with Pittsburgh taking the first meeting (4-1 on Oct. 17)… Marc-Andre Fleury has played in 14 of the Pens 17 games on the season, posting a 2.07 GAA, which is 4th among 20 goaltenders who have appeared in 13 or more games, and a .921 save percentage, which is 6th among the same group… Steve Mason has appeared in 13 of the Flyers 17 games so far and has a 2.15 GAA, which is 6th among that goaltender group and a .930 save percentage, which is T-4th among the same group… The Pens penalty kill has been perfect over the last five games, killing off their last 14 times shorthanded… The Penguins are 9-1-0 when scoring the first goal, while the Flyers remain winless when the opponent scores first (0-7-0)… Of their 17 previous games, the Penguins have trailed after the first period only twice this season (1-1-0)… Pittsburgh has scored at least one power-play goal in six of its past seven games against the Flyers (8-for-25).

4. Player to watch FLYERS: Claude Giroux - (C) #28
Giroux comes into tonight with points in each of his last two games, points in three of his last four and in eight of his last 12 games, posing nine assists and 10 points in that span… He has recorded a point against the Penguins at Pittsburgh in seven straight games, posting six goals and 11 points… Overall against the Pens, Giroux has a career 21 points (9g-12a) in 24 games.

5. Player to watch PENGUINS: Evgeni Malkin - (C) #71
Malkin ranks third on the team in points (15) and second in assists (12)… He currently owns a four-game point streak in which he has posted five assists… He also has at least a point in 12 of 17 games on the season… In the first meeting of the year, Malkin had a goal and an assist… He has points in five straight home games against the Flyers dating back to Oct. 29, 2010 with eight points (2g-6a)… Overall against the Flyers, he averages nearly an assist per game and has 1.425 points-per-game with 57 points in 40 career games.
