  GAME NOTES  I NHL.com Preview

1. COMING INTO TONIGHT
Tonight is the 11th Flyers game of the season and seventh already on home-ice… After tonight, the Flyers will play five of their next eight games on the road… Two of the Flyers three victories on the year have come at home and four of the six games played in Philly so far have been decided by one goal… The Ducks come into tonight's game playing the fifth-game of a season-long eight-game, 15-day road trip in which they are 2-2-0 so far… Six of the Ducks' nine victories this season have come by a one-goal margin, including the last two on this road trip… The Ducks have won nine of their last 11 games and outscored their opposition, 37-25 in that span.

2. GOING FOR THREE
The Flyers are looking for their third straight win… In their last two games, the Flyers have scored more goals (7) than in their first five games of the season (6)… Matt Read has  three points (2g-1a) in the last two games, while Steve Mason has stopped 56 of 59 shots he has faced in the two-game span… Claude Giroux and Mark Streit posted their first multi-point games in the last contest, while Jakub Voracek scored his first of the season.

3. THIS, THAT & THE OTHER
The Flyers have allowed the fewest goals against in their division this season (27), third-fewest in the entire Eastern Conference and sixth-fewest in the NHL… Ducks' rookie defenseman Hampus Lindholm is tied for the league lead in plus/minus (+11) - He has been a plus-or-even in eight of his first nine NHL appearances… Ducks' Andrew Cogliano is 3rd on the NHL’s active Ironman list (470), having not missed a game since his NHL debut (Edmonton - 10/4/07)… The Flyers have the NHL's 3rd best penalty kill on home ice, allowing just one goal on 17 attempts and they have not allowed a power-play goal against in their last seven times down a man… Nicklas Grossmann has three points (all assists) in his last four games.

4. Player to watch FLYERS: Vincent Lecavalier - (C) #40
Its hard not to watch Lecavalier after coming off a hat trick in the Flyers last game, a 5-2 win over the Islanders… He leads the team in goals (4) and is tied for the team lead in points (6 - with Brayden Schenn) having played just seven games so far… Against the Ducks, Lecavalier averages nearly an assist per-game with 11 helpers in 15 career meetings against Anaheim - he has 12 points overall (1g-11a).

5. Player to watch DUCKS: Teemu Selanne - (RW) #8
At age 43, Selanne has played a number of games against the Flyers and he's taken advantage of that - overall Selanne averages 1.42 points-per-game recording 17 goals and 30 points in just 21 career games agains the Orange & Black… As for this season, Selanne has appeared in 10 of the Ducks' 12 games and posted seven points (3g-4a)… Selanne is the oldest active player in the NHL today.

QUOTABLE
"I'm happy I got that week off. A lot of skating helped me a lot… hopefully that slump is behind me and I can focus on my performance and helping the team win."
- Jakub Voracek
