  GAME NOTES  I NHL.com Preview

1. A RARE VISIT
The Flyers face the Vancouver Canucks for the first time in over two years with their last meeting a 5-4 victory during the Flyers home opener of the 2011-12 season… This is also just the third meeting on home ice for the Flyers against the Canucks in the last seven seasons… Tonight is one of two meetings on the year as every team now plays a member of the opposite conference once at home and on the road… All-time, the Flyers have a 38-18-1-0 record at home against Vancouver and an overall mark of 69-29-13-0.

2. DUAL POWER OUTAGE
Both the Flyers and Canucks come into tonight's game struggling on the man advantage (Flyers: 10.5%, 25th -- Canucks: 7.4%, 29th)… After scoring on the power-play in each of their first two games, the Flyers have gone 0-for-15 in their last four games on the man advantage, while the Canucks have the done the same, scoring in their first two and going 0-for-7 in their last four games.

3. THIS, THAT & THE OTHER
Braydon Coburn will play in his 500th career game in the NHL tonight… Tonight is the first of a seven-game road trip for the Canucks… Former Flyer Tom Sestito will make his first trip back to Philadelphia after being claimed off waivers by the Canucks on Mar. 1, 2013… The Flyers have had seven different players score eight of their goals on the year thus far - only Brayden Schenn has two goals… The Flyers rank sixth in the league as a team in hits (167) and second in the league as a team in blocked shots (94)… Roberto Luongo ranks 17th all-time and 2nd among active goaltenders in wins (350) and is one shutout from passing Turk Broda (62) to move solely into 15th all-time in NHL history… Claude Giroux has five points (1g-4a) in four career games against the Canucks.

4. Player to watch FLYERS: Steve Mason - (G) #35
Mason will get his fifth start in net for the Flyers and despite his 1-3-0 mark, he has a 2.02 goals-against average and .935 save percentage, stopping 108 of 116 shots he has seen so far this season… In 12 career starts against Vancouver, Mason is 4-5-2 and in his last four starts against the Canucks (as a member of the Blue Jackets), all four games have been decided by one goal.

5. Player to watch CANUCKS: Henrik Sedin - (C) #33
Henrik Sedin is tied (with his brother Daniel) for the team lead in scoring with seven points (1g-6a) and enters tonight's game one point shy of 800 in his career… He currently holds the franchise record in points (183g-616a) and will be the first player to reach 800 points all in a Canucks uniform… He also leads the Canucks in all-time scoring against the Flyers with 15 points (2g-13a) in 11 career games and has more points-per-game (1.36) against the Flyers than any other NHL team.

QUOTABLE
"When we skate hard, when we can do that for 60 minutes, we'll be a really hard to team to play against."
- Kimmo Timonen
