1. LET'S GO
Tonight is the 46th season opening game for the Flyers, who own a 21-17-7 record in season opening games… They have won three of the last four season opening games with their only loss coming last year vs. Penguins… It is also the 29th time they have opened the season on home ice, they are 15-10-3 in that circumstance… The Flyers have lost the last three times they have opened the season at home… Tonight is also the 11th time the Flyers have opened the season against a Canadian team, they own a 6-2-2 record when doing so - the last time coming in 2007-08 with a 3-2 win at Calgary.

2. TONIGHT'S OPPONENT
This is only the second time in the Flyers history that they have opened their season against the Toronto Maple Leafs, winning their only meeting in 1973-74 by a 2-0 score… This is the first of three meetings on the year against the Leafs and first of two home games… The Flyers don't play the Maple Leafs again until Mar. 8 at Toronto… All-time, the Flyers own an 89-52-22-2 in 165 regular season games against Toronto and 51-23-8-0 in 82 games on home ice… Last season the Flyers went 1-2-0 against Toronto, and split decisions in this year's preseason, going 1-1-0.

3. THIS, THAT & THE OTHER
Steve Mason will get the start in net tonight for the Flyers… The Flyers will play eight of their first 12 games at home to begin the season… The Flyers posted a 1-5-1 record in the preseason, while the Maple Leafs had a 5-2-1 mark… Toronto will be playing the second half of games on back-to-back nights, earning a 4-3 win at Montreal last night… Sean Couturier led the Flyers in preseason scoring with four points (1g-3a), while Mason Raymond led the Leafs in preseason scoring with five points (2g-3a)… Only three Flyers could make their debut in Orange & Black in tonight's game (Vincent Lecavalier, Mark Streit & Hal Gill)… The Flyers had 13 different players score all 13 of their goals in the preseason.

4. Player to watch FLYERS: Claude Giroux - (C) #28
Tonight is the fourth season-opening game for Giroux, who has recorded a goal in each of the last three season opening games… He posted two points (1g-1a) in two preseason games this year… Giroux has led the Flyers in regular season scoring in each of the last three seasons, averaging at least a point per-game in each of those seasons… Against the Leafs, Giroux has 16 points (5g-11a) in 17 career games, including three points (all assists) in three games last season.

5. Player to watch MAPLE LEAFS: James van Riemsdyk  - (LW) #21
The former Flyer posted the Leafs first goal of the season in last night's 4-3 win at Montreal… He appeared in five preseason games, where he recorded four points (2g-2a) with six penalty minutes and 11 shots on goal… In his three games since being traded to Toronto, van Riemsdyk has two goals against the Flyers.

QUOTABLE
"My adrenaline is probably the highest it will ever be for the opening of the season. It won't go any higher than this point."
