FIVE THINGS: Flyers vs. New Jersey Devils
Flyers take on the New Jersey Devils in preseason action.

1. COMING INTO TONIGHT
The Flyers come into tonight's game after a week-long break in game action… Since then, the team has trimmed the roster by 34 with 29 players remaining and traveled to Lake Placid, NY for practice and team bonding exercises… The Devils come into tonight having played in Montreal last night, suffering a 3-2 loss… This also opens up a home-and-home series for New Jersey, who host the Flyers at the Prudential Center on Thursday, which will be their third game in a four-day span and final game of the preseason… The Flyers will play three games in a four-night span and wrap up their home preseason schedule tonight.

2. LEADING THE TEAM(S)
Rookie defenseman Eric Gelinas leads the New Jersey Devils in scoring with three points (1g-2a) in three games in the preseason - he is also tied for second on the team with six shots on goal, which the most of any Devils defenseman… Sean Couturier and Jakub Voracek lead the Flyers in scoring with three points (1g-2a) and Voracek leads the team with eight shots on goal through his two preseason games… The Devils have had 95 penalty minutes in their four games, while the Flyers have had 75 PIMs.

3. THIS, THAT & THE OTHER
Only one player on the Devils roster (C - Jacob Josefson) has played in all four preseason games, while NO Flyers player has played more than two preseason games thus far… The Flyers have had 19 power-plays through four preseason games and the Devils have had 18 opportunities in their four games - the NHL leaders are Montreal who have had 31 opportunities in five games and Edmonton with 29 opportunities in six games… Of the 68 preseason games played in the NHL thus far, 23 have gone past regulation play (33.8 percent), 16 of the 23 have gone to a shootout.

4. Player to watch FLYERS: Claude Giroux - (C) #28
The captain is back in the line-up… Claude Giroux will make his first appearance in the preseason tonight… He has led the team in scoring in each of the last three seasons, where he has also averaged at least a point-per game… He was one of two players last season to have played in all 48 games (Voracek being the other).

5. Player to watch DEVILS: Patrik Elias - (LW) #26
The Devils legendary forward has appeared in just one preseason game and made it a multi-point contest, scoring a goal on his only shot and adding an assist… Elias enters his 18th season in the NHL, all of which he has played with the Devils, appearing in over 1,000 NHL games (1,090) and posting 930 points in the regular season and 162 games with 125 points in the Stanley Cup Playoffs, including two Championships.
