This Date in Flyers History: November 20
On this date in 1998, Ron Hextall allowed one goal on 19 shots to record a 3-1 win at Carolina to register his 233rd win as a Flyer.

With this win, Hextall became first in Flyers history in wins, moving past Bernie Parent on the Flyers’ All-Time List in victories.

Hextall posted a career record of 296-214-69 and a 2.97 goals-against average over his 13-year NHL career.

A member of the Flyers Hall of Fame, Hextall holds the Flyers record for wins (296) and games played as a goaltender (489).  Hextall was also the first goaltender to score a goal by shooting the puck into the opposing team's net. He is also one of two goaltenders (Martin Brodeur) to score in a postseason game.

During his rookie season, Hextall appeared in 66 regular season games, recording 37 wins and helped lead the Flyers to the Stanley Cup Final, where he won the Conn Smythe Trophy as the Most Valuable Player in the Stanley Cup Playoffs. He would eventually win the Vezina Trophy as the NHL's most outstanding goaltender.
