NHL, NHLPA resume CBA negotiations in NYC

PrintNEW YORK -- Negotiations toward a new Collective Bargaining Agreement resumed Wednesday at the League office.

A session featuring NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman, Deputy Commissioner Bill Daly, NHLPA Executive Director Donald Fehr and Special Counsel Steve Fehr lasted approximately an hour, breaking at close to 1 p.m. A larger meeting in the late afternoon lasted close to four hours.
Commissioner Bettman, Daly and the Fehr brothers also met Friday in Toronto.
The NHL announced last week the cancellation of the first two weeks of the regular-season schedule, a total of 82 games, due to the absence of a Collective Bargaining Agreement.
The NHL locked out the players Sept. 16 following the expiration of the previous CBA.
