September marked the sweet beginning of a partnership between Comcast-Spectacor Charities and Classic Cakes. The Cherry Hill bakery has selected Comcast-Spectacor Charities as the Charity of the Month for the month of September.

Flyers General Manager Paul Holmgren and his wife Doreen, an integral part of the group of Flyers Wives that support the foundation, were on hand last Friday to unveil the new Comcast-Spectacor Charities specialty cupcake. During the community celebration, the Holmgrens mingled with patrons and signed autographs at the event which included cake decorating, face painting and several giveaways.

A portion of the proceeds from the featured cupcake will benefit Comcast-Spectacor Charities throughout the month of September.

Following the event, Senior Vice President and Executive Director of Comcast-Spectacor Charities Mary Ann Saleski praised the event and how partnerships like the one with Classic Cakes impacts the community and outreach for Flyers fans.

“These informal community events offer the opportunity for our fans to meet with our company representatives while assisting worthy causes that will benefit from these generous donations,” says Saleski. “Thanks to our friends from Classic Cake for the opportunity to raise funds through such a fun, sweet event!”

Throughout the year, Comcast-Spectacor Charities partners with various businesses across the Delaware Valley.

“Corporate partnerships are important to our ongoing mission of providing assistance where needed while offering access to fans of all ages,” Mary Ann Saleski says of the support from local businesses and partners.

It is partnerships like these, with involvement from Flyers players and wives as well as alumni that help the foundation and local establishments, but ultimately the real benefactor in these partner events are all the great causes that Comcast-Spectacor Charities supports.
