Of the many storylines that took place during the Flyers 2011-12 season, one is most certainly "The Year of the Rookie".
The Flyers used 12 rookies this past season. They appeared in a total of 445 games – the second most man-games for rookies in a season in franchise history (480, 1968-69). The rookies contributed 64 goals and 65 assists for 129 points, led by Matt Read’s 24 goals and 23 assists for 47 points.
Below are all eight of the Flyers rookies who tallied their first NHL goal...
