Flyers sign Ruslan Fedotenko, Bruno Gervais
The Philadelphia Flyers announced today that they have signed 6-1, 200 lb. left wing Ruslan Fedotenko and 6-1, 200 lb. defenseman Bruno Gervais, according to general manager Paul Holmgren.

“Ruslan is a good two way forward that can play either wing and will bring experience and depth to our forward group,” Holmgren said.  “Bruno is a right-handed-shot defenseman that has over 300 games of experience in the league. We feel both these players solidify our team.”

Fedotenko, 33 (1/18/79), has spent the last two seasons with the New York Rangers.  In 73 games last season, he scored nine goals and added 11 assists for 20 points while helping the Rangers to a 51-24-7 record and an Eastern Conference-best 109 points.

Fedotenko began his professional career with the Flyers organization when he signed as an undrafted free agent in 1999.  He made his NHL debut with the Flyers in 2000 and played two seasons with the club before being traded to the Tampa Bay Lightning.  He won a Stanley Cup with the Lightning in 2004, scoring both of the team’s goals in its 2-1 Game 7 win over Calgary, and won a second championship in 2009 with Pittsburgh.  In 11 NHL seasons with the Flyers, Lightning, New York Islanders, Penguins and Rangers, Fedotenko has 169 goals and 184 assists for 353 points over 816 games.

Gervais, 27 (10/3/84), comes to the Flyers after spending the 2011-12 season with the Tampa Bay Lightning, where he posted six goals and seven assists for 13 points in 50 games.  Prior to last season, Gervais had spent his entire NHL career with the New York Islanders, who drafted him in the sixth round (182nd overall) in 2003.  In parts of six seasons with the Islanders (2005-11), Gervais scored nine goals and added 58 assists for 64 points in 331 games.
