In the midst of their disappointment following last night's loss in Game 5 that eliminated them from the Stanley Cup Playoffs, the players took a brief moment to reflect on the season. Here's what they had to say…

SCOTT HARTNELL
"We are probably one of the youngest teams in the league this year. I think we were fifth or sixth best in the regular season. We gave it a good run here, but to see a bunch of these young faces and the up and coming talent they have here, even though it is one of the worst days of the year. You have to look to the future and it is going to be exciting."

CLAUDE GIROUX
"Yeah, it's frustrating. I mean, the guys gave everything they had. They work hard and play the kind of hockey that we do play. Not to be able to go to game 6, it's frustrating but guys gave everything they had and played pretty well."

PETER LAVIOLETTE
“Just meeting with the players after a loss when the season ends, those speeches that you never seem to master.  I can tell you that, the group that’s in that room right now is a terrific group of men.  They played hard this year, they gave a lot and we came up short.  It’s a bright future and we’re looking forward to that but tonight it’s disappointing.”

KIMMO TIMONEN
"Look at this team. How many young guys here. They are going to have a really good team for years to come."

JAROMIR JAGR
“I have to say, thanks for the support from the fans. I love everyone on this team. That was probably the most enjoyable year I’ve ever had. I’ve won some cups, I’ve won some trophies, but I loved this year. From the organization to the last player on the team, and the fans, they were so nice to me. I hate to finish it right now, that’s the worst feeling. You finish the whole story, the whole year, that’s a sad day, today for me…I wanna cry right now.”

MAX TALBOT
“A little bit more experience is always good.  My first year in the NHL I was playing with Crosby and all these guys.  We were all young and it was our first year.  We lost the first round in five games against Ottawa and they went on to the Stanley Cup Finals.  Experience is always big and if you look in this dressing room and you look at the guys who their first playoff game against Pittsburgh, there’s a lot of guys.  Like I said, this team is going to be good for years to come.”
