FEELIN GIROUX-VVY
Just like old times.

That’s what Jaromir Jagr said following the Flyers’ 4-1 win over the Stars at Dallas.

He wasn’t talking about the Flyers getting back into the win column after dropping their previous two games. He was talking about the return of his linemate and NHL leading scorer Claude Giroux.

Most players admit to being nervous following their first game back after an injury, especially one as serious as a concussion, and I’m sure fans out there wanted to err on the side of caution and were wondering if his return to game action was too soon.

Well for Giroux it took only one shift.

One shift for he himself to know, but about three or four shifts in to let his fans, his teammates and the Dallas Stars know that he was in fact back.

Giroux scored the first Flyers goal, one that not only got them back into a tie with the Stars, but led to a string of three more unanswered goals that he set up to lead the Flyers to victory.

Over all Giroux recorded a goal and three assists for four points. And now overall is the NHL scoring lead, which Giroux is in sole possession of.

Giroux now has 43 points (17G-26A) to hold a four points lead in the NHL scoring race. He will get a chance to further his lead on Friday when the Flyers clash with their Atlantic Division rival New York Rangers in a Winter Classic preview.
Claude Giroux recorded his third four-point game of the season tonight (1G, 3A).  Per the Elias Sports Bureau, the last Flyer to have three or more games with four or more points in a single season was Mark Recchi, who had three four-point games during the 2000-01 season.

Giroux now has a six-game scoring streak after posting points in five consecutive games before his injury.  He has four goals and 10 assists for 14 points in those six games.

Kimmo Timonen, Scott Hartnell and Jaromir Jagr all had two-point nights.

The Flyers have now won six consecutive games over Dallas dating back to the 2007-08 season.

Zac Rinaldo recorded six hits in 10:13 of ice time.

The Flyers are 3-for-9 on the power play over the last two games while going 5-for-5 on the penalty kill.
Claude Giroux
Tonight's star goes to Claude Giroux for his four-point effort.

It didn't take long for Giroux to break the tie for the NHL scoring race. At the 8:30 mark of the first period Giroux recorded the Flyers first goal to tie the game at 1-1.

From that point forward it was all Giroux.

He posted another three points, all assists, to factor into all four goals scored by the Flyers.

"I was kind of nervous to see how I felt after the first shift, whether the headaches nd stuff were going to comeback but I got hit by [Steve] Ott and it was a pretty big it so I felt great after that and it kind of made me more comfortable."
- Claude Giroux

"Well there's no question with someone of his caliber of a player jumps onto a power play it's going to be more effective."
- Peter Laviolette
Tonight's turning point came eight minutes and 30 seconds into the game.

That was the moment that all fans knew that Giroux was back after scoring his 17th goal of the season.

That goal led to three more consecutive goals by the Flyers and let the Dallas Stars know that the NHL's leading scorer was back to his old self after he helped set up all three goals en route to a 4-1 win over the Pacific Division leaders.
PIC OF THE NIGHT: Jaromir Jagr & Claude Giroux celebrate after their give-and-go goal.

DALLAS (AP) - Claude Giroux had a goal and three assists in his return from a four-game absence due to a concussion and the surging Philadelphia Flyers beat the Dallas Stars 4-1 Wednesday night.
