(Philadelphia, PA) - With his goal in the second period of Game 6 of the Stanley Cup Final against Chicago on Wednesday night, Flyers center Danny Briere broke Brian Propp’s franchise mark for points in a single postseason with 29.

Briere also assisted on Scott Hartnell’s tying goal in the third period, giving him 30 points in 23 postseason games, to lead the league.

Some final notes on Briere’s remarkable postseason run are listed below (with the primary assist going to the Flyers’ PR department):

* * *

► Briere’s 30 points is the new all-time franchise record for most points in a single playoff year, previously held by Brian Propp, who had 28 points in the 1987 playoffs.

► Briere led the league in the Stanley Cup Playoffs with 30 points, finishing second with 12 goals, tied for second with 18 assists and second with four game-winning goals in 23 games - all of which led the Flyers.

► In 23 games in the playoffs, Briere recorded at least a point in 15 games, and had 11 multi-point games.

► Briere led all players in the Stanley Cup Final with 12 points and nine assists in six games, averaging two points per game. In the six-game series, Briere had at least a point in five games, including four multi-point games.

► Briere tied for second in NHL history for points in a Final with 12, falling one point shy of Wayne Gretzky’s record set in 1988.

► Briere set a new Flyers record for most assists in a playoff series with nine in the Stanley Cup Final. The previous record was eight, held by Bob Dailey in 1977 and Ken Linseman in 1981.

► Briere tied the franchise record for most points in a playoff series with 12 in the Final. He now shares that record with Bill Barber, who had 12 points in 1980 semifinals.
