Flyers Recall Nodl, Ross
The Philadelphia Flyers announced that they have recalled right wing Andreas Nodl (ahn-DRAY-us, NO-duhl) and center Jared Ross from their American Hockey League affiliate, the Adirondack Phantoms, according to club General Manager Paul Holmgren.

Nodl, 22, has three goals and one assist for four points in 16 games with the Phantoms this season. In 2008-09, he made his NHL debut with the Flyers and recorded four points (1G,3A) in 38 regular season games. He also posted 20 points (6G,14A) in 39 regular season contests with the Flyers’ AHL affiliate, the Philadelphia Phantoms, as well as one assist in four Calder Cup Playoff games.

Over parts of three seasons with the Phantoms (2007-08 to 2009-10), Nodl has registered 25 points (10G,15A) and 26 penalty minutes in 58 regular season contests. He also has two points (1G,1A) in 14 career Calder Cup Playoff games.

A native of Vienna, Austria, Nodl was originally selected by the Flyers in the second round (39th overall) of the 2006 NHL Entry Draft and signed an entry level contract with the Flyers on Apr. 4, 2008.

Ross, 27, has one goal and six assists for seven points in 15 games with Adirondack this season. Last season, he made his NHL debut with the Flyers, going scoreless in 10 regular season appearances, and recorded one goal in six Stanley Cup Playoff games.

He spent the majority of the 2008-09 season with the Philadelphia Phantoms, where he recorded 69 points (29G,40A) and 26 penalty minutes in 64 regular season contests. His 69 points led the team, while his 29 goals tied for the team lead and 40 assists ranked second. He also led the Phantoms with a plus/minus rating of +17.

Selected to the 2009 AHL All-Star Classic in Worcester, Massachusetts, Ross was named Most Valuable Player of the AHL All-Star Game on Jan. 26 after he recorded a goal and six assists for seven points with PlanetUSA. His six assists and seven points are AHL records.

Over parts of four seasons with the Phantoms (2006-07 to 2009-10), Ross has 152 points (57G,95A) and 96 penalty minutes in 167 games. A native of Huntsville, Alabama, Ross signed as a free agent with the Flyers on Apr. 8, 2008.
