Mark Recchi came to the Philadelphia Flyers via trade late in 1992, and in his first full season as a Flyer in 1992-93, had one of the most dominating offensive seasons in franchise history.

On April 1, 1993, the Flyers hosted the Los Angeles Kings at the Spectrum in a make-up game for a contest that had to be canceled earlier in the season when inclement weather shattered a window at the arena late in the first period. Sitting on 49 goals, Recchi took advantage of a delayed penalty call to Wayne Gretzky and fired in a wrist shot to become the fifth player in franchise history to reach the 50-goal plateau.

Recchi would go on to eclipse the franchise mark in points for a season with 123, four more than Bobby Clarke's previous mark of 119. It still stands.
