Tilger Promoted to Senior VP of Business Operations
Shawn Tilger
(Philadelphia, PA) - The Philadelphia Flyers today promoted Shawn Tilger as Senior Vice President of Business Operations, according to Comcast-Spectacor President Peter Luukko.

"In addition to overseeing the creation of new and exciting opportunities for our fans, Shawn has also done a tremendous job of leading the business side of our operations. He is truly deserving of this promotion," said Luukko.

Tilger spent the previous four seasons as Vice President of Marketing and Communications for the organization. In his new role, he will be responsible for the day-to-day management of all facets of the organization's business operations.  Tilger is also responsible for generating new revenue streams and leveraging partnerships for the Flyers and its parent company, Comcast-Spectacor.

During his tenure with the Flyers, Tilger has been instrumental in creating an incomparable relationship with the city of Philadelphia and the team, which was recognized industry-wide when The Sporting News named the city of Philadelphia the number-one hockey town in 2005. Also, under Tilger's leadership, new sales and attendance records were set for the 2005-06 season and the organization received the University of Massachusetts' prestigious PRISM AWARD, recognizing the Flyers' excellence in sport franchise management and their continued dedication to growing the sport of hockey in the Greater Philadelphia Region. In 2007, the Flyers in-house advertising and production departments won five Telly Awards, honoring the very best local, regional, and cable television commercials and programs, as well as the finest video and film productions.

"It is an honor and a privilege to be a part of the Comcast-Spectacor family," said Tilger.  "I'd like to thank Mr. Snider and Peter Luukko for this opportunity.  I am surrounded by an exceptional staff who not only help make my job easier, they make it a pleasure go to work."

Tilger brings over 12 years of marketing experience to the Flyers, previously serving as Vice President of Marketing and Director of Marketing for Comcast-Spectacor, overseeing marketing, public relations and sales of family events and concerts at the Wachovia Center and Wachovia Spectrum. Before that, Tilger was Regional Marketing Manager for the Harlem Globetrotters where he promoted the team's appearances in 38 different markets throughout the United States.

A native of Beverly, NJ, Tilger received an M.A. in Sports Management from Springfield College and a B.A. in Government and Law from Lafayette College. Tilger, his wife, Erika and daughter, Ava, reside in Delran, New Jersey.
