On this date in 2003, the Flyers defeated the Pittsburgh Penguins at the Wachovia Center, 5-2. Jeremy Roenick, Radovan Somik, Eric Weinrich, Chris Therien and Mark Recchi each scored a goal in the game for the Flyers.
Defenseman Kim Johnsson missed the game due to sinusitis, ending his consecutive games played streak at 217 games.

Kim Johnsson played four seasons with the Flyers (2001-06), recording 147 points (40G-107A) in 291 regular season games. He was acquired by the Flyers in a trade for Eric Lindros on Aug. 20, 2001.
