On this date in 1993, the Flyers defeated the Montreal Canadiens at the Spectrum, 9-2. Right wing Kevin Dineen recorded a hat trick to lead the Flyers. The nine goals scored by the Flyers in the game were the most that the team had ever scored in a game against Montreal.
The mark would be tied three seasons later as the Flyers defeated the Canadiens, 9-5, on February 6, 1997. In that game, left wing John LeClair would score four goals.
