On this date in 1970, forward Jim Johnson recorded three goals and an assist in the Flyers' 6-2 win against the California Golden Seals at the Spectrum.

His three goals and four points in the contest each tied the team record for most goals and most points in a game at that time.

- The Flyers own an all-time record of 10-5-1-0

- In 1995, Flyers defenseman Chris Therien scored the game-winning-goal in overtime versus the Vancouver Canucks in a 3-2 victory.

- Born on 'This Date' are Flyers Alumni: Dimitri Yushkevich (1992-1995,2002-03)
