On this date in 1991, the Flyers opened their 25th season with a game against the Capitals in Washington. The Flyers lost the game, 5-2.

Right wing Mark Recchi led the Flyers in scoring in 1991-92 with 97 points (43G,54A). He posted 27 points in 22 games with the Flyers after being acquired from the Pittsburgh Penguins in a February 1992 trade.
