Philadelphia Flyers
On this date in 1989, the Flyers selected 10 players
| Greg Johnson was originally the Flyers' first pick (second round, 33rd overall) in the 1989 NHL Entry Draft. |
Their first three selections (Greg Johnson - second round, 33rd overall; Patrik Juhlin - second round, 34th overall and Reid Simpson - fourth round, 72nd overall) each played in the NHL, although none had much success with the Flyers.
Johnson never played for the Flyers, but after stops in Detroit, Pittsburgh and Chicago, he has found a home in Nashville. He has played the last six seasons for the Predators and was named the second captain in franchise history in October of 2002.
