May 1, 1980...Flyers Defeat North Stars, 7-0
Bob Dailey tied the team record for most points in a playoff game with five against Minnesota.
On this date in 1980, the Flyers defeated the Minnesota North Stars at the Spectrum, 7-0, in Game Two of their Semifinal series.

With North Stars defenseman Craig Hartsburg serving a minor penalty for holding, the Flyers Paul Holmgren scored a power play goal at 2:09 of the first period to give the Flyers a 1-0 lead. Bill Barber then scored a shorthanded goal as teammate Ken Linseman was in the penalty box for highsticking at 3:20.

Second-period goals by Bobby Clarke, Bob Dailey and Brian Propp gave the Flyers a 5-0 lead after two periods of play.

Al Hill and Reggie Leach closed out the scoring as each scored a third-period goal. The Flyers were perfect on the power play in the game, scoring four goals in four attempts.

Defenseman Bob Dailey led the Flyers with five points (1G,4A) in the contest. Flyers goaltender Phil Myre stopped all 27 shots faced to record his first career playoffs shutout.

The seven-goal victory is the most decisive win in a playoff game in franchise history.

In Game One, the North Stars beat the Flyers, 6-5, to take the home-ice advantage away from Philadelphia. After winning Game Two, the Flyers won the next three games of the series and captured the series, four games to one. With the series victory, the Flyers advanced to the Stanley Cup Finals for the fourth time in franchise history.
