On this date in 1995, the Flyers defeated the New York Islanders at the Spectrum, 2-1.
The Islanders' Kirk Muller opened the scoring with a first-period shorthanded goal. The Flyers' Eric Lindros tied the score at 1-1 with a power play goal to early in the second period.
Mikael Renberg scored a goal at 11:31 of the third period to give the Flyers the 2-1 win.

With the win, the Flyers
clinched their first playoff appearance since the 1988-89 season.
The Flyers finished the 1994-95 season with a 28-16-4 record and captured their first division title in eight years.
